Orienteering race (Aust Long Champs) 1:12:42 [5] 5.8 km (12:32 / km) +160m 11:01 / km
14c shoes: Inov-8 X-Talon 212 #3

Just an average run today as was very tired.
Quite a few small slips but major time losses were on #5 where I randomly changed direction just before I hit the controlm and #8 where I went in waaay too early. Some really good things during the race though. Another good learning experience.

Orienteering race (Aust Schools Relays) 37:48 [5] 3.9 km (9:42 / km) +125m 8:21 / km
13c shoes: Inov-8 X-Talon 212 #3

Decent run, not super great as I was super distracted and tired, but still a fun time. I think I should've run in the mass start because by the time I was up to run I was too calm and not pumped enough.
I was slightly too low on #1and a bit distracted and slow going in. Going to #2, I was a bit off bearing which led me to some hesitation when I hit the track but I went with my instinct and luckily it was the right way. #3 was not good, went waay off because I was super distracted and just thinking about completely unrelated stuff and then I hit a gully with rocks and relocated and got it. #4 and #5 were slow and cautious after the adventure on #3. I lost a fair bit of time on #6 in the rocks, I got to the circle but then couldn't figure out where I was in it. Same problem on the pivot control at #7 as on #2 but I recognised the track so it was all fine. The next three were slow and cautious as I was getting tired but physically and mentally. Was too high on #11 and a bit distracted by spectators.
A fun event but I was definitely ready for a break afterwards.

Orienteering race (Aust Schools Individual) 54:59 [5] 5.8 km (9:29 / km) +230m 7:55 / km
18c shoes: Inov-8 X-Talon 212 #3

Good run, a really nice and complex map.
So glad I went in the 2nd block as later would've waay to hot to run well I think. Cautious to #1 and good though I ended up slightly lower but could see the flag so all good. A dodgy bearing up the hill to #2 led me to the parallelish track which I hadn't seen on the map, but I did notice that my compass wasn't lining up so I went back to the main track and got it from there. Going to #3, I was possibly a bit over cautious and strayed a bit too far from the line, but because I knew where I was I figure I didn't lose any time. A little too high caused me to go slightly too far on #4 but I fixed that when I noticed the buildings at the top of the hill. I maybe should've pushed a bit more on the track to #6, but it was already so hot and I still had so long to go. I remember i was having a great time out there at this point though! For #8, I went straight up to the better running at the top of the hill on the ridge and was running behind a kangaroo for a little bit before i went up to get above the cliff/boulders. I came in a little too far to the right of the feature but quickly realised and was all good. A slightly off bearing in and out of #9 but was ok.
Really happy with finally a good run on the schools individual day!!!
Winner woo!!!!

Running warm up/down 20:00 [3] 1.0 km (20:00 / km)
slept:8.0 shoes: Mizuno Wave Rider 19

Orienteering race (Aust Schools Sprint) 12:45 [5] 2.6 km (4:54 / km) +5m 4:51 / km
23c shoes: Mizuno Wave Rider 19

Good run, very happy.
Having such a small map and things coming up so quickly was quite confusing but nothing major, I tried to run hard when I knew where I was going and made sure I kept contact so it went well.
Slow and cautious to #1, just getting into the map. I wasn't expecting the oval leg so soon. Tried to gun it but I had to slow down because I couldn't read my descriptions to check which side of the goal posts to go to and what the number was.
So I probably could've avoided some other minor time losses too, but still happy.
5th overall and 2nd Aussie woo!!!

Orienteering race (Aust Relay Champs) 34:53 [5] 4.5 km (7:45 / km) +105m 6:57 / km

Australian Relays at Mundoolun, running 3rd leg for the dream team.
Really good run, just having a great time out there on a really nice day.
In the mass start for remaining runners. A bit wide on #1, #3 and #4 trying foolishly to avoid climb but was fine relocating again on each. I took #5 cautiously as I knew I wasn't reading into the detail enough. #6 was possibly a little wide as well but as I had complete contact the entire time, I would've been running faster anyway. Going to #7 I was unsure as to whether or not i was allowed to run through the church but luckily went through anyway as it was a lot quicker I think. I drifted a little but it worked out well because I ended up just above the junction and then knew which way to go from there. A bit hesitant and cautious of #8 and a bit more drifting on #9 but the large rock caught me perfectly. Lost time on #10 checking a control in the creek for the fun of it
Fastest time and second place wooo!!
