Putting out controls.

Orienteering (Charlie's Paddock) 30:00 [3] *** 4.64 km (6:28 / km) +65m 6:03 / km
11c shoes: Inov-8 X-Talon 212

Contour only
First few I had put out, then shadowed mum for a control, then Krystal shadowed me for the rest.
So good being shadowed (thank you!), definitely learnt a lot.

Orienteering 29:41 [3] *** 4.35 km (6:49 / km) +51m 6:27 / km
5c shoes: Inov-8 X-Talon 212

Long legs course.
Ran with the GoPro and at one point I was too busy commentating and rushed and mucked up a little bit. oops.
Trying to focus on using compass and through the vague stuff wasn't great either. Also was trying to work on things we had picked up on during the previous exercise.

Orienteering (Charlie's Paddock) 19:16 [3] *** 2.62 km (7:21 / km) +35m 6:54 / km
8c shoes: Inov-8 X-Talon 212

Star relay with Krystal. Good fun.

Orienteering (Braeside) 10 [1] *** 4.33 km (2 / km) +48m 2 / km
8c slept:8.0 shoes: Inov-8 X-Talon 212

Map walk followed by compass exercise with Joan and Noelene.
Took us almost 2:30hrs, not logging that much time.

Orienteering (Braeside) 36:55 [3] *** 5.17 km (7:08 / km) +53m 6:48 / km
20c shoes: Inov-8 X-Talon 212

Skins course but by myself. Was good when I was concentrating.
Fell on my hip and bruised it but it should be fine.
Tried to focus on running with compass.

Orienteering (Braeside) 37:54 [3] *** 4.04 km (9:23 / km) +34m 9:00 / km
13c shoes: Inov-8 X-Talon 212

Map memory + collecting controls. Re-did some of the not great legs from the skins course.

Stretching/Rolling 25:00 [2]
slept:8.5

Feeling pretty tight, especially right hip.
9 AM

Running long 1:25:00 [3] 12.54 km (6:47 / km) +282m 6:06 / km
shoes: Mizuno Wave Rider 19 #2

Long run with Meghan.
Up to the lookout then down the east side, through the botanic gardens and then home on the other side of the freeway through the back of Toowong.
Quite humid out and I crashed after about 8kms but was a fun explore all the same!

Running warm up/down 7:15 [3] 1.27 km (5:43 / km) +24m 5:13 / km
shoes: Mizuno Wave Rider 19 #2

Took a bit of convincing to get out, so I put on a good outfit to make sure I was fast

Running tempo 15:17 [4] 3.38 km (4:31 / km) +10m 4:27 / km
shoes: Mizuno Wave Rider 19 #2

2 x 1.5km (ish) tempo with 2mins rec.
Not sure how they ended up being different distances according to my Garmin because it was out and back along the same road.
Felt quite strong for the first one, but struggled for the second one, especially at the end so was trying to keep up good form.

Running 2:44 [2] 0.32 km (8:33 / km) +6m 7:49 / km
shoes: Mizuno Wave Rider 19 #2

Running hills 3:30 [4] 0.56 km (6:15 / km) +15m 5:31 / km
shoes: Mizuno Wave Rider 19 #2

5 x 15sec hills with jog back down as rec. Should've done more.

Running warm up/down 5:40 [3] 1.01 km (5:37 / km)

Stretching/Rolling 20:00 [2]
slept:8.5

Trying to loosen everything up, in particular hips and quads.
Was worried about slipping so didn't run today.

Orienteering (NightNav) 37:50 [3] *** 6.53 km (5:48 / km) +82m 5:27 / km
16c slept:8.0 shoes: Mizuno Wave Rider 19 #2

Nightnav at Toowong.
Wasn't super keen to go out but actually ended up being really glad I went out.
Super steep and slippery in places had me walking down some streets and talking it super slow and carefully the whole time.
Knees felt a bit weak and sore, especially on the hills. Could've been from the slipperiness maybe.
Probably could've easily cleared the map but I didn't think I could at the start and so left out some low pointers near the beginning and didn't bother going back to get them.
Added a short extra loop at the end to try to get the Gower St strava segment - didn't get it but I felt fairly strong towards the top so I'll take it.
