SM Stafett - 3rd leg
Another just okay run, little things mainly and also slow because I was just by myself the whole time. Want to do some more relay/mass start training to make myself run and orienteer faster.
Took a bit of an unnecessary scenic detour to #1, should've just gone round on the track on the other side or over closer to the top. Lost at least 6 mins here which is quite significant. Wasn't really into it yet either, another thing to work on. Went unnecessarily wide again on #3, and lost another 2:30. Clearly I need to be checking compass a lot more. A bit hesitant and confused on #7 so took extra time, was just having trouble interpreting the detail on the map because there was so much more there in reality. Lost around 30s or so here. Should've run harder going to #10. And not been so distracted by what other people were doing going to #12 and just trusted myself, would've saved me 2mins.
SO many things to fix up which all add up. Lots and lots to keep working on.
Overall a fun weekend though, even if I am a bit disappointed with how my races went, lots to improve on for next time.

SM Medel B final
Mostly fine, a few little things still though.
Started pretty easy, just jogging around saving energy for tomorrow but then caught this girl and started going faster to shake her off but pretty sure she was just following me blindly because when made her go past me at the start of the green to #10 she went off in the opposite direction to the control and i never saw her again.
NOt keeping good contact to #2 so was quite hesitant, lost about a min and a half, just think i wasn't focused properly yet. Was a bit wobbly to #4 but luckily was looking up and picked it up but still lost around a minute. Bit hesitant going into #5, just having trouble interpreting the detail on the map mainly. Being a bit overcautious and reading too much going to #7 and #8 I think and lost some time here too, probably because of the lower visibility in the green was being more careful. Was extra careful going into #10 so slower but the extra minute was probably worth it i think. Definitely should've gone over the hill to #12, lost so much time getting through the rocky ground in the gully there.
Overall mostly alright, lots of things easily avoidable to keep fixing up.
Fun and nice patch of forest again.

SM Medel kval
Generally okay with this. In a much better place mentally before this race than last week which was nice and so was orienteering much better I think.
Most of the race was fine, but cooked majorly one control just being super stupid which cost me a spot in the final. A few more smaller errors too but other than that okay.
Looking at livelox, on the way to the first control I was as fast as the other girls along the track but as soon i get into the forest i slow right down. Thinking this is because of not being as confident with navigation as well as just generally being slower at getting through the forest. The first 7 controls were all fine, in 19th by this point. Then going to #8 I didn't even see the track option which would've been waay faster - need to remember to look for extra route options more, lost just under 2 mins here. #9 way bad though. Had an alright route planned which was a bit risky but turns out all the other girls took it too. But then because i didn't keep contact once i was back in the forest after the track (soo dumb) I was second guessing myself and when I stopped I was frustratingly close to the control but didn't see it, then proceeded to wander around without thinking and only found the control 7mins later. What an idiot. Should've just taken the track the whole way around and gone in just before the control. Lost another minute and a bit on the next one, I think this is mostly just from going wide around the yellow with black dots area because I wasn't super sure if we were allowed through and would've rather be safe. Lost another 30s on #12 where i should've gone left to the other side of the hill.
Just so frustrating that I'm still doing such stupid things.
But overall it was fun, there was lots of good bits and the forest was much nicer and runnable than last week so was fun.

Still feeling really tired after the weekend so taking a rest day. Ended up not being super easy though because I spent the morning walking around the city trying to find a good view.

HR dodgy for second half so not logging.
Felt tired and couldn't get legs to go very fast, they just had no zing.
Windy on the track too but otherwise nice out, perf temp too.
Classic 370m track so reps probably not all the same length but tried to make it as consistent as possible.
