Beautiful out, sunny and 62 to start and 76 when finished. Should have stashed a water bottle, one wasn't enough. I was depleted at the end, don't think I could have gone further without more fuel. Breakfast might have helped too!
Leg ok, bothersome areas to start, paused a few times to stretch the within first 5 miles or so. The longer I went the better it felt. Hoping I didn't overdo?...

Leg felt ok, but still wasn't sure how I should run the race????

Said I was going to start off conservatively, well that lasted about 2 seconds. Things were feeling ok so went with it, don't think I did any damage.
Race went very well considering I wasn't even sure if I should race it! Might have been close to my PR (19:14) if it was 3.1.
6:09-6:07-6:15-6:13 pace for the last .17.
2/1091 females 1/137 age group and 32/1660 overall.

Outside-76 degrees!!!......maybe I wouldn't slack so much in this area in the summer if I did this outside more?!

Foam roller and used the tennis ball on the hips before yoga. Amazing how much looser my hip muscles are, I really have been working that tennis ball the last few days. Seems to be paying off, I suppose that and Wednesday's chiropractic adjustment.
Feeling hopeful again, pretty cranky the last few days.

Rest day :(
I had some discomfort in my upper right leg on yesterday's run. I have been working on my hip and IT band on this side the last few weeks (thought I had things under control) and some runs it feels all locked up and there are pains in different areas (never in the same spot....its like a mexican jumping bean!), but then works itself out in a 1/2 mile or so and feels ok. Well yesterday, it wasn't worked out in a few miles so I turned back home and cut my run really short. I had this in the other leg earlier in the year, but worse...I am determined to not let it get to that point on this leg. I was able to run through it, but I don't want to deal with that again.
So, decided to take today off. Tomorrow is Fitger's, I will go do a warm up and if anything is questionable I will not "race", but might still "run" it. Worse case, I spectate....that would be fun too!
I saw Adam Sundberg for my regular monthly appointment on Wednesday. He said things felt pretty good in the quad and IT, compared to what he has felt with me in the past. My pelvis/hip was out of adjustment and hip was tight on the bothersome side of my leg and he said that could be part of the problem, adjusted me and we shall see how that works.
I took a 20 minute walk this morning and did a 1/2 mile test run, things felt a lot better this morning (I found a few more knots last night and worked on them as well as worked on an area in the hip that Adam found was tight).
Paying for all those March miles I guess.
