Running (Ragnar leg #21) 1:20:52 [3] 10.47 mi (7:43 / mi)
shoes: Asics GT2000 (light blue/gray)

Finally, 17 hours into the relay and I get to run!! Although at this point I would have rather had a nap, but knew I'd wake up once I started running. Run went well, forgot how long the rolling hills were. Felt pretty ok and ran at a decent clip. Killed about 8 runners and I was killed by one.....guy ran by me and got about 1/10 of a mile ahead, but then we were keeping the same pace. So a few miles later I decided to call his bluff and kill him back. It worked, until about mile 9 then I think the same guy sailed by me and there was no catching him.
9 AM

Running (Ragnar leg #31) 38:35 [3] 5.01 mi (7:42 / mi)
shoes: Asics GT2000 (light blue/gray)

This was a new leg for me. All long rolling hills much like my last leg. I planned to run a little easier, but got competitive trying to catch each next runner (6 kills). No one killed me, whew! We had a much earlier heat than last year so not nearly as many runners ahead of us to kill and the really fast teams have been catching us, so kills were harder to come by this year.
10 AM

Running (Ragnar leg #33) 44:50 [3] 5.06 mi (8:52 / mi)
shoes: Asics GT2000 (light blue/gray)

Only having one leg in between my two runs was harder than I thought, I was pretty tired running this leg. Tim's run in between mine was only 3.2 miles so I was hoping my muscles wouldn't tighten up too much. It was slow going. First half pretty flat, second half had some large climbs and not much for downhill. Around 8:20's for the first three miles, then a 10:-12 and a 9:02 on the hills.
Did have a sprint finish with another guy....I think he beat me by a hair.

Note

Today should have been the first leg at Ragnar, but legs 5-9 were cancelled because of washed out roads. Good reason!! Because we were one runner short for the relay that meant only two team members would lose a running leg...but who wants that?! Ragnar let you team up with another runner on different legs for those who wanted to make up their leg. Tim ran with Judie, Zach ran with Brittany and Paul Mock and I were slotted to run the spare legs later in the race.
