Sore achilles. Halfway into my Tuesday run achilles started to hurt. I really didn't have much choice in finishing my run, it was either that or walk 6 miles home and freeze.
I went in and saw Adam on Wednesday, he said I probably just strained it a bit. He told me to continue icing and he found some tight areas on the calf that he worked on. He suggested if it feels decent to try a short run or two (with a day off in between) and if it is still bothering me next week to pop back in.
After my appointment with Adam the pain was darn near gone, then it creeped back so hopefully that means he found the problem area in my calf and it might just need another session or two. I may also make a PT appointment with Malcolm, then possibly run an easy run on the lightspeed too (if feeling ok).
I have noticed on and off over the past month a little tightness in the achilles, if sitting for a long time or some mornings when first getting out of bed. That tightness would go away after a few steps and then I would forget all about it. I probably should have paid more attention to that and worked harder on rolling the calves and stretching.
