Note

I decided Wednesday night to go ahead with the surgery if needed. I see a surgeon Monday morning and he will evaluate at that point if he thinks I should or shouldn't have surgery. I am to try to put a little weight on it when walking around (OUCH!) and take it out of the boot and move my ankle around (OUCH!). He wants to see how stable it is (I will get new Xrays on Monday).

Nurse said it will cause my ankle/foot to swell more so elevation is my friend. It is already super swollen, hard to believe it could swell more!

I am to continue with 2 extra strength tylenol every 6 hours.

DEVELOPMENT.....so I looked up to see who my Dr. was, turns out it is Tammy's Husband. I messaged her and she and Hubby are off today, so he looked on line at my xrays and said I won't need surgery! It is a 3rd opinion, but hopeful! Regardless, I will see him Monday for a final opinion.

Note
(rest day)

Feeling down today.
Showering is a bitch.
Some upper body soreness and the palm of my hands from using crutches.
On the positive, slept fairly well last night. I was super tired though.

Note

Got a call from the doc today after he got a second opinion with his colleague. There is a little "side step"...can't recall his exact wording...and putting a plate and a few screws in "may" be beneficial OR it may be fine without it. So much for expert advice on that! I think I am leaning towards doing it.

Running (Roads-home) 54:36 [3] 4.37 mi (12:30 / mi)
shoes: Asics GT2000-black/orange/teal

No I have done it!
There was a car coming too close for comfort and my instincts said get out of the way!
The results.........broken distal end of the fibula. The doc said it was a pretty clean break. I was lucky and called the ortho department at Essentia and they just had a cancellation so I was able to get in there vs. urgent care. I have a follow up appointment next Wednesday so hopefully he can tell me what kind of recovery time I am looking at.
The above time includes my walking home. I don't know HOW I walked that far considering the pain now to put any pressure on it.
I am in a boot since it will still continue to swell and on crutches.

Same as Tuesday's workout except Malcolm increased the speed a bit, most intervals, after a few warm up ones, switched back and forth from 12.8 and 13.2mph. Then I ran at 9mph after the speed workout until I hit 5 miles.
