Running (Moderate 5km) 20:38 [3] 5.01 km (4:07 / km)
shoes: Brooks Glycerin 13

Was going to go to parkrun but didn't get a great sleep so I thought I'd do a 5km on my own. Turned out to be a pretty windy day so I had a huge headwind on the home stretch which burned the legs a bit but other than that felt pretty good up the hills especially.

ahr:167 max:186 shoes: Salomon X-series

Hadn't done a decent long run in a while so decided to stretch out the legs a bit. Not sure how to approach training for upcoming Aus Champs races in terms of a structure but have considered doing a bit more volume and then more speed work once I get closer to racing.

Pretty messed up sleeping pattern at the moment.

Running (Easy Fartlek) 30:47 [3] 7.26 km (4:14 / km) +80m 4:01 / km
ahr:166 max:187 shoes: Salomon X-series

Still quite jetlagged and woke up at 5pm this afternoon after 18 hour of sleep straight. Still feeling a bit groggy but decided to do a bit of running anyway.

Ended up doing 6 x fartlek session of 4mins easy and 1 min hardish. Can definitely feel the difference in altitude after Switzerland.

Running (Post-Jet Lag Run) 18:18 [3] 4.52 km (4:03 / km) +75m 3:44 / km
ahr:167 max:186 shoes: Brooks Glycerin 13

I'm back, nice easy run after 18 hours of flights and an 18 hour stopover in Thailand. Wanted to get moving and get the blood out of the legs so just a nice easy loop tonight.

Also did 2 x 20min legs up the wall sessions before and after the run and only just felt my feet tingle after the second round. Also a couple of Catching Features Sprints just to get the cogs spinning.

The next couple of months of training will be leading into Aus-Champs and possibly a NOL or two. Really keen to take advantage of Aus champs being on some very familiar maps this year and also some good competition from the boys in M20.

Going to go over my Swiss Maps over the next couple of weeks as well to see what worked and what didn't.
