Sunday Aug 20 #

11 AM

ORIENTEERING race 10:00 [5] 5.0 km (2:00 / km)

did the middle distance race, the first bit was really good and I could run fast and got all the controls, the second bit was less good and I got tired and made stupid mistakes, gave up slightly!
the whole two weeks was really good and I learned loads, I will also really miss everyone and the Swedish terrain!!

Saturday Aug 19 #

11 AM

ORIENTEERING race 1:07:00 [5] 7.2 km (9:18 / km)

did a long race where I got very lost and made several 20'25 min mistakes. the scale was 1:15000 so my brain was screwed over. made a mistake at almost every control so I wasn't very happy at all.

Friday Aug 18 #

11 AM

ORIENTEERING race 50:00 [5] 4.5 km (11:07 / km)

warm up and then a mixed sprint relay where I was paired with Tom. the girls did 4 legs and the guys did 5. most of it was urban but there was a little n the forest. it was raining so it wasn't very pleasant.

10 AM

orienteering training 1:12:00 [4] 5.6 km (12:51 / km)

training at Brunn. did a long corridor exercise, started off on my own but caught up Eilidh and then Joe, Zac and Ben as well, so kept with them fom 5 onwards. the area was really nice but some of it was quite vague especially as it was with a corridor. really fun although we got a bit lost at 6 but it was fine.
6 PM

ORIENTEERING race 53:00 [5] 7.1 km (7:28 / km)

2km warm up and then did a clock relay where is was paired off with David again! was really good and it was in the forest behind the hut but in a different part than before. did really well but struggled to get into it and made a few mistakes on the first couple, apart from that it was great.

Wednesday Aug 16 #

9 AM

ORIENTEERING race 46:00 [3] 5.0 km (9:12 / km)

did a warm up then a 'league' race in the forest behind the hut. navigationally I was good but I just struggled to run.
4 PM

ORIENTEERING race 1:01:00 [5] 8.39 km (7:16 / km)

did the Melker Minny relay race, paired with Bethany. we were running the w20s course so it was quite far and we had to do two legs each. I was out on first leg which was good as I managed to keep up with the front of the pack, as did Tara! third leg was less good as Bethany good dropped so I did my second run on my own and got a bit tired. still fun though with a 1:5000 scale

10 AM

orienteering training race 1:00:00 [4] 5.6 km (10:43 / km)

did 'trains' training at Tisdagstraning with Eilidh and Niamh. basically there were lots of mini races each with three controls. in our threes we were set of at 30sec intervals and it was training our relay racing techniques. the leader had to try and keep ahead while the chasers had to catch up and try to get ahead. we swapped leaders each time.
the area was really nice and the terrain was lovely. scale of 1:15000 which was a little confusing at the start but fun. absolutely lovely forest. once we finished all six races, we had a 2km walk back to the base which was really nice and we had a look at the little loch beside where we were training. so warm and lovely

RUNNING warm up/down 10:00 [3] 1.5 km (6:40 / km)

5 PM

ORIENTEERING 48:00 [5] 6.4 km (7:30 / km)

did a time trial with OK Ravinen. orienteering was easy and it was all about testing speed over different terrain and up and down. did it with Eilidh but legs felt tired so she went off ahead for a bit but I caught her up at the end.

Monday Aug 14 #

10 AM

orienteering training 1:12:00 [4] 5.5 km (13:05 / km)

did training at Tisdagstraning which was my favourite area of the tour. there were two parts to this course so we had to goo from the first finish to the second start. the first part of the course I focused on attackpoints and then the second part on plans. I hit almost every control and ran it all so I was finished about 10mins before all the other girls!! really really nice area of forest with good contour detail.

orienteering training warm up/down 10:00 [3] 1.0 km (10:00 / km)

6 PM

Strength 1:00:00 [3]

did strength and conditioning training with OK Ravinen. probably the most brutal session I've ever been to. we were basically doing different exercises in pair which were short and hard. there were two different exercises at a time, one was supposedly easier than the other to give us a bit of rest but they were both really intense each time!!! paired off with Eilidh !!
did squats at the end which were killer
