Bootcamp (HIIT) 1:00:00 [3]

Run #4 (65:00 hilly run) 1:05:00 [3] 5.0 mi (13:00 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline

I just had to get out! Even though my son was still sick I left him with a phone (good thing he is almost 11) and headed to Garden of the Gods (too many beautiful days cooped up inside with sick kids).

Went onto Palmer Loop and off shoots and got lost - pure heaven! I actually was able to run the entire first half (normally there are some parts I have to walk). This was very encouraging - especially since I was sick for that week your mind plays tricks on you "like you've lost everything you've gained" garbage like that.

I beat my time back even with getting lost. Also tried out my new shoes, Brooks Cascadia. They felt great, but did noticed I almost turned my ankle several times initially so I guess I need to be a little more careful.

Run #2 (flat, cruise intervals) 1:30:00 [3] 9.2 mi (9:47 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline

This was surprisingly easier than I thought it would be. Granted, I did on the treadmill since my kids were home sick. I did end up splitting it into 30 min. increments. Since this was the first intense workout since I was sick I didn't want to push myself too much. But it went well. I'm starting to enjoy going faster and sustaining. I tried to really work on my turn over, but found myself bumping into the front of machine a lot. So that was interesting trying to work on a higher turn over without necessarily increasing my speed. Maybe I will get the hang on this eventually. Anyway, overall a nice and fairly easy workout. I'm sure not really running for several days helped too.

Walk 5 (30 min. hill climb) 30:00 [3] 2.4 mi (12:30 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline

Kids sick, did on the treadmill. One of these days I will get to go on the incline. Nothing too spectacular to report. 12-15% at a 3.8-4.0mph. Didn't want to hurt myself after yesterdays failed attempt at the long run after being sick.

Run #1 long (3:00 hr. long run) 1:45:00 [3] 9.5 mi (11:03 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline

So after begin sick (or at least I thought I was done feeling bad) I thought at least I could do the long run. Since two of my kids are home sick I would have to do it on the treadmill, not ideal, especially since it was gorgeous outside!

Oh, I think that might have been a mistake. I made it 1:45 min in at 10:50 and couldn't go anymore (even with pumping myself with perpetuem and eating appropriately). I think my body was rebelling against me. After that little run I was wiped out. Looking back I should have just taken the entire week off.
