Birthday 70 minute run on track at Hermantown. Jeffrey ran a couple of miles with me early. Did not have it for a fast run, just was not there. Had some good splits for over 70 PRs: 5K-22:33; 10K-45:28; 15K-69:03. 22:33, 22:55, 23:35. Was about 43 degrees and windy. Happy with the run.

Did not feel much like running, but got out and after a couple of miles felt ok. 38 degrees and windy. Big change from yesterday.

Glorious 68 degree day. Was thinking of taking the day off, but too nice of weather to miss. Had to run easy after yesterday's long downhill run - quads very sore. Also, had run 40 miles in 4 days at a 7:44 average pace. Another easy day tomorrow.

With Donny and son. Ran to the start of the Fitger's 5K. About an 800 foot drop - last 3 miles were at a 7:20 pace. Great day for a run. Really beat - quads sore.

Wonderful day in the mid-60s, however a stiff SE wind. Planned on running around 8:20 pace, so was very surprised I was running so fast. Nice weather makes running so much easier. Will run to Fitger's in the morning to see the race.

50 degrees, but stiff East wind. Tempo run - felt under control with a lot left at the end. Still do not feel sharp, but realize most runners my age cannot run this fast in a race - so I am satisfied.

In Bemidji on bikepaths. Low 50s, ran in shorts. Had a cold and sore lower back (right side which is unusual) and hip. The closer I get to 70 the more it seems like my body is falling apart. My run on my birthday will not be the hard effort I planned. Just a 70 minute run on the track.
