USARA Nationals with Team BOR . The prologue went well, fast and fun. We flipped the canoe immediately once we got in the water, but got going and then headed for 8 and then made a counter clockwise loop, saving 7 for last. The bike to 12 was fun. We totally bombed on the first trekking leg...had 14 misplotted, couldn't find 13, and then by the time we started looking for 14 in the correct place, it was dark and we couldn't find it. Bailed on 15 because we were getting close to the time cut-off. We ran into another team who couldn't figure out where to bike-whack from the trail to the logging road to get back to TA 1, so we joined forces for the worst bike-whack I've ever done. We finally made it back to road and TA1. The trek for the next few points went better, but we were still slow and only found 2 of those three points. We got to ride some awesome single-track to the dam. We decided to skip the next trek in favor of paddling and having time left to get the last 3 bike CPs. The paddle went smoothly and we got on the bikes with about two hours left before time. We got turned around on the streets near 36 and started getting paranoid about time, so we headed back to the finish.
