Mount Barth with Thomas
Snow was clean and solid -- followed the most recent avalanche up the southeast face to the east ridge. A small crux over a small fractured lip of snow... Sidled across south cleft of the ridge, dropping below the rocky false-summits so as to stay on the ice/snow. Only had to pull the rope out for one abseil between first knoll and main ridge -- felt fine on most of the rest. Got a wicked cramp on the way off the summit in my hamstring. oooch. Just hung out with four points in until it subsided :)
Just a really nice mountain and a gorgeous day!!

From our camp, up to the bottom of the snowfield...... and on return to camp we dropped over the rocky ridge to the east (looking for deer). Dropped through beech until the Ahuriri and out. Reached Ness' (birchwood station) by 11:00pm -- piles of food waiting
