Borough watershed
Up over Furnace Hill, down across Hay Creek, Up Indian Creek, around and up Trap Rock... Nice evening run.

tramping 40:00 [1]

Fairly poor excuse for a training session - but dragged the doe over Cedar hill this morn, following an embarassingly long tracking session.... Nonetheless, I'm looking forward to the firing up the grill for Christmas.

Also watched a red fox (not particularly swampy) and flushed a woodcock... very nice light while the fog was lifting.

Short run down to Trap Rock and over to Jeff's... NIce morning.

Birdsboro Borough Land
Up over Furnace Hill and down to White Bear Tavern, over Long Mountain to Horseshoe trail, around the ridge to Kulptown and down main trail to the Indian Creek Reservoir. Crossed the Hay and climbed Trap Rock and back to Cedar hill. Stuck mainly to the trails except where I was blatantly trespassing on Long Mountain.

My feet/achilles behaved beautifullly, though I was still being careful with them -- I went easy on the hills.

Woods was alive this morning -- paused for a Pileated woodpecker, for 15 or so Wild turkey, a pretty big buck that made it another year, and a lone somewhat tired looking raccoon (must have been a hard day's night).

Birdsboro Borough - Indian creek reservoir loop
Over Furnace Hill, down the main track to the Hay up around the Reservoir up to the weir and back up Trap Rock to Cedar Hill.

This was the first run since I've been back in PA, so this was largely to test my achilles and feet.... I'm still having to be very careful with them due to largely sudden and unprevoked pain... Remarkabley, the run went without incident or pain, which was really nice for a change -- as was to spend the morning on my old stomping grounds.
