Friday Aug 24

tramp (field work) 1:30:00 [1]** 12 km (7:30 / km)
Akatarawa Forest Wellington
SIte survey along a long undulating ridge --- fairly straightforward -- Mostly pine forestry and gorse. Most of the afternoon was just bashing around bits and pieces...Found an impressive diplurid spider.

Thursday Aug 23

tramp (field work) 2:30:00 [1]**
Akatarawa Forest
Crossed most of the bush covered ridge -- mainly on tracks, but lots of bashing around the steeper slopes. Long day.

Wednesday Aug 22

tramp (field work) 2:00:00 [1]**
Akatarawa Forest
North part of the ridgeline. Mostly forestry, open grassland and scrub. Great views of the Tasman and Mana.

Monday Aug 20

run 48:00 [3]
Rogers Track with La
Along the river and up the Rapaki to rogers, and down the valley to the river again and home.

Sunday Aug 19

run terrain 1:15:00 [3]+180m
Bridal Veil and Margarets Tarn with La
Another fantastic day on the divide.

Saturday Aug 18

run terrain 2:10:00 [3]+1100m
Avalanche Peak
Climbed at a slow and steady pace...above treeline was good going with the snow. Caught up with Aaron near the top -- hung out for a while -- the views were awesome today. About 20-50 cm of fresh (windblown) snow on a hard pack base so there were a few avalanches in the area...we even managed to set one off. hm.
