orienteering race 2:45:00 [3] ***
Taylors Mistake Rogaine with Aaron and Tane
Another awesome event by MADeventz. I was particularly impressed with the coastal cliff controls -- winding us in and around some stunning scenery, and dragging us down into some gnarly terrain with monster cool cliffs and gullies. Great work Jamie, Chris & Em -- Can't wait for the Mountain Marathon.

St James ultra-marathon.
A somewhat ignominious and humbling race. Started out tired and tight, and really didn't improve. Hamstrings were ridiculously tight and seizing up after only a couple hours. I think thats when it occured to me -- this is going to be a long day. However, the nice scenery on the trail and some yummy vegemite sandwiches kept me generally happy throughout the almost eight hour epic. Overall, I guess I was pleased, but I'm pretty confident I could knock off 40 minutes or so if I'd just had a week or so rest before. Work getting in the way again.... Marty won, beating me by a gnarly 90 min. Ouch, that hurts.
