I admire the Chinese for their 24 hour work ethic, but that the concrete mixer they've set up outside our window has all the endearing qualities of a mosquito tenor I'm a little less impressed....
Qī lóng nǚ xī dà xiágǔ. Crossed qī lóng nǚ xī at the swimming hole, and bashed up a few contours before a sort of awkward sidle into the gorge (xiágǔ). I was keen to go further, but given the big drops and that I had run out of light, I didn't push too far. Retreated until I found a nice line to bash across the slope to a recognisable track, climbed up to Yùdài lù and then back down the ridge to the terraces and back up through the quarry. Nice night.
Shuāngláng. A really nice run from the lake over the first knoll of the ridge. Amazing how different this side of the lake is -- feels almost like the Mediterranean with its white-washed fishing villages, scrubby slopes of red clay and limestone, shaggy goats and braying donkeys. Today was overcast, so a bit more tolerable. Gathered more tasty little naxi pears in the orchards, and took a few incriminating photos of Lara running through the last of a hemp crop. We also found a super stretch of track for mountain biking down, but need to figure out a better way to get up the hill first, otherwise it will be a plesant hike-a-bike.
