Wet course looping 6x around Burchill Park. Very straightforward. Only 4 people turned up to the entire event.

Been sick the past couple days so breathing wasn’t great. Got the bush controls first then the streets skipping #16, 10, 20 and finishing 27 secs over for 550. Steve/Glenn-550.

Orienteering race (Sydney SOS) 19:41 [5] *** 3.35 km (5:53 / km) +48m 5:29 / km

Tough little course, and made so many small errors. Around the school for first map, then indoors on 3 levels for second map (but the levels were on a slope meaning some of level 1 was really basement height which made it confusing), then around school again for third map.

Lost time on:
#2 (10 secs) too early on stone wall
#7 (10 secs) went wrong side of tennis court then went to wrong control only 5m away
#8 (10 secs) too wide on route choice
#12 (5 secs) indoor level change and couldn't orientate myself, got so confused
#14 (5 secs) another level change and had same issue as before
#16 (10 secs) bad route choice for another level change
#17 (10 secs) couldn't figure out which level control, turned out it was a half level
#23 (10 secs) didn't realise there was another map change and stood around, pretty much everyone else has the same problem. Some even finished up.
#24 (10 secs) got stuck behind mapped dark green which was only grass but turned and went the long way around

So many time losses but everyone had the same issues. Finished about 30 secs behind Toby. So much fun.

For most of the day wasn't planning on running as was so hungover from Melb Cup day. Was never gonna be in it feeling rough but got round it OK albeit a bit slow. Skipped a few 10-pointers along the way for 530 to finish well off Ondrej, Toby-530, Steve-510.

In town for a wedding. Good that this was on as I wouldn’t have had any motivation getting out in the rain and being hungover. Wasn’t feeling it out running so didn’t go too hard. Spent a good 5 min bashing though lantana when I couldn’t find a track near the end. Got all controls 3 min under.

Had planned my route then realised you couldn't go through the bush so then did a quick re-route. Turns out it wasn't the ideal course. Lost 30 secs overrunning track into #11 and a few secs here and there looking for flags. Ended up missing #4 which was the plan. Was really pushing hard to finish on time but missed it by 4 seconds (one second last week). I was only a few seconds behind Ondrej but he was the good side of 45 min meaning 10 more points. Jem got all in 44 min, Steve-580 too.
