Orienteering race (Sydney Summer Series #4) 50:05 [5] *** 10.15 km (4:56 / km) +250m 4:24 / km
spiked:22/28c shoes: Asics Kayano 20

Felt resonably ok running. First time really since Hounslow. Unfortunately, kept losing time at a few controls including #20 was way too low looking on wrong cliffline (45 secs), #2 thought it would be in creek but was on road (15 secs), #24 was looking too low - ended up being right on path (15 secs), #10 couldn't read the detail and figure out exact location (15 secs), #28 hit the beach to early then had to run through the swamp to get to control - lucky it was low tide (30 secs), #12 came in from the top through the green - didn't pick a good way (30 secs).

Finished well behind on the back of all the small times losses. Was 5.05 late for 520 points. Glenn/Richard-550, Steve R-540, James McQ-530.

Orienteering race (Sydney Summer Series #3) 47:00 [5] *** 10.64 km (4:25 / km) +153m 4:07 / km
spiked:26/26c shoes: Asics Kayano 20

Course was too flat and fast for me today, and much too much roads. Kept changing my mind in what I was going to do but couldn’t really have gone much better.

Left out 24-8 then 5-9 near the finish and was 2.22 over for 510 points. Got smashed by Steve R-540. James McQ-520, Glenn Horrocks/Richard Green-510.

spiked:28/28c shoes: Asics Kayano 19 (2)

Legs still a little tired from Hounslow. Didn't pick a good route either. Should have got 29 from the north and not the south up the hill. Plus the route through the eastern controls wasn't good either.

Got 570 points, Richard Green-590, James McQ-580, Steve R-570.

Run race (Hounslow SkyRun) 2:42:00 [5] 23.0 km (7:03 / km) +2021m 4:54 / km
shoes: Asics Kayano 20

Hot pace at the start. The field was jostling for position on the single track out to Pulpit Rock. I settled into about 10th place and the run back to Govett's Leap was feeling pretty comfortable, happy to sit in a train as we had to battle all the runners coming the other way.

Run out to Neate's Glen was ok, losing a couple positions including Jono who flew past me at the 12km mark. Then I was on my own through the Grand Canyon. It was hard to keep focused and try to keep pushing myself on the very technical trails. Ended up losing the track a few times losing 5 secs or so a number of times. Got passed by a couple at the end of the Grand Canyon.

I always had in the back of my mind how hard the 4km climb up Rodriguez Pass to the finish was going to be. I just aimed to keep moving but to my surprise was able to keep running pretty much the whole way. It ended up being a 40 min climb and was brutal. Passed 8 runners on the climb to finish strongly in 6th place.

Didn't feel great and could of picked a slightly better route choice on the middle controls but surprsingly got top points.
