Day #4 at Ravels Noord, Belgium.

Started dead last and only saw a couple people on other courses the whole way round. Pretty good through first half but had a few bad ones in 2nd half. Found it very difficult to read the creeks and vegetation. There's usually a creek every few metres but they only map some. Everything in Belgium is so vague, most creeks were only usually 20cm deep today. Spent a lot of time running round every creek looking for the control. Also lost time with controls on vegetation boundaries (the boundaries aren't clear at all). Finished in 20th, 17 min behind Norweigan Bojan Blumenstein.

Day #3, WRE at Pijnven in Lommel, Belgium.

Messed around on #2 and #4 and got caught by the guy starting a minute behind me. Pretty much ran the rest of the course together. Found it hard to read all the knolls and depressions as they weren't very high and obvious. Quite a few 30 sec errors but still way off the top guys. Finished in 28th, 13 minutes behind Belgian Tristan Bloeman.

Day #2 after missing Day #1 as would have had to leave Christmas Day to get there in time.

Map was just over the Belgian border in Holland in sand dune terrain. Felt pretty good and ended up being in the middle of a train the whole way around after stuffing up #2 looking in a 200m long ditch which I later saw was under the line of the course. Couldn't work it out at all and cost me 4 minutes. Probably would have end up in the same train at some point anyway. Finished well down in 21st, 14 min behind German Christoph Brandt.
