Run race (Dover Half Marathon) 1:50:00 [5] 24.95 km (4:25 / km) +488m 4:01 / km
shoes: Innov-8 X-Talon 212

Course was mostly trails above the White Cliffs of Dover with a bit of bitumen. It was near 0 degrees so trails were icey and slippery. So many people were stacking it coming off the start line so I settled back in about 10th making sure the leaders were in sight. It was so hairy, I was afraid someone would slip off the cliffs into the sea. Reached the turnaround point at Walmer Castle feeling pretty good in about 8th position with the leaders only 1-2 minutes ahead and occasionally in sight. In the second half, direction signs were a bit hard to see and noticed a lot of the top guys were losing time which helped me. I was slowly picking them off with the pace getting faster averaging around 4 min/km for the last 10km. Crossed the line in 3rd place about 2 min behind the leader but for some reason wasn't 3rd at the presentation. Will have to wait for online splits and results.

Edit: 4th

Orienteering race (SE League) 1:17:55 [5] *** 14.03 km (5:33 / km) +185m 5:13 / km
spiked:29/30c shoes: Innov-8 X-Talon 212

Completely stuffed #1, couldn't work out the track network (or lack of tracks that were mapped). Anyway should have been easy enough and lost over 2 minutes. Other than that no big time losses. Feeling pretty tired and legs are feeling very heavy at the moment. Partly from tiredness but also all my recent training has been on boggy trails or terrain. Finished 12th, 16 behind Nick Barrable.
