Only long run I'll get in before Ultra Trail Gold Coast next week. Started around Lake Heron then stopped for a Sprint course around Miami State School, then down Miami and Burleigh Beach before a couple laps of Burleigh Head. Feeling OK for most part, when I hydrated. Going to be underdone next week, think the 2nd half next week is going to be a mission.

Started way outside my comfort zone along the road before the climb at 1.5km doing about 3.30s then struggled up the climb. Should have backed right off at the start and have some legs for the climb especially as the final section was over 40% gradient. Got to the top in 23 min then felt OK coming back down, although had to hold back a bit at times due to all the runners coming the other way. Got to the road for the last 1.5km and was able to pick up the pace again to do the back section in 14 min. Would like to come back, a bit fitter and not being so wasted before the climb.

Map memory course, looking at each leg at every control. Pretty easy map so wasn't too difficult. A couple bush controls weren't exactly how I pictured them but only lost 5 secs or so.
