6 AM

Cycling (Commute) 1:00:00 [3]

45mins in the morn, 15mins on the way home.
6 PM

Orienteering race (Sprint Series) 19:57 [3] *** 2.7 km (7:23 / km)
spiked:19/21c (injured) shoes: Brooks Defyance 4

Hammy was really troubling me so was only going slow. Started cautiously and was generally pretty clean apart from one or two small mistakes. Unfortunately crashed into a low wire fence and ended up sprawled on the gravel with a multitude of cuts and bruises.
Series finished up good especialy with pizza afterwards!

Cycling (Commute) 24:17 [3] 8.42 mi (2:53 / mi)

Slow commute. Hammy was ok this morning. Must be the sitting during the day that tightens it up. Last block of 2 days for Uni today. yay!
5 PM

Cycling (Commute) 15 [3]

6 PM

Swimming 30:01 [3] 1.25 km (24:01 / km)

Will's first swim session ahead of his planned tri. He managed 1km which wasn't a bad effort but it was only in a 25m pool. Hammy felt fine in the water so I guess more swimming for me at the moment.

Cycling (Commute) 33:48 [3] 12.4 km (2:44 / km)

Amazing morning for a ride to work. Temperature cooled off nicely, pre-dawn sky was clear and bright. Hammy felt good which was a pleasant surprise.
5 PM

Cycling (Commute) 1:00:01 [3] 21.0 km (2:51 / km)

15mins was a ride home. Later Will wanted to go swimming as he thinks he's doing a triathlon. I'm dubious. Anyway, realised it was too late after dinner to swim so did a decent 45min rideHammy pulled up very sore. Think it might be a little worse than first thought.

Jog (to work) 27:12 [3] 5.01 km (5:26 / km)
shoes: Brooks Defyance 4

Just couldn't stretch out with sore hammy/glute and calves were also tired. Grrrr. Can't remember the last time I was that slow or sore.
5 PM

Jog 24:31 [3] 4.5 km (5:27 / km)
shoes: Brooks Defyance 4

Hammy very tight, but pace was better than morning session.
6 PM

Jog 35:01 [3] 5.5 km (6:22 / km)
shoes: Brooks Defyance 4

Hill training with Mel around Dry Creek while James was at footy training. 10 x 1min of hills at good pace. Later on slow jog back started cramping in my right shin area. Haven't had that before. Wierd. Hammy actually felt good on the hills. Went for a swim in the pool when I got home which was both refreshing and relaxing and therapeutic.

Cycling (Daily Commute) 40:31 [2]

25mins in the morn, 15mins in the arvo. My sore glute is now a sore glute and right hammy I think lifting knees in terrain on Sunday didn't help. Days efforts cut a little short as took James for a mouthguard fitting followed by a school football meeting where it seems my version of "I'll see" regarding coaching was interpretted as "yes"...

Orienteering Training (WA Training Day) 50:01 [3] 8.5 km (5:53 / km) +240m 5:09 / km
shoes: Mudclaw

Did Frank's mocked up 3.6km long course around Belair NP using the permanent markers. Bit slow on 1st loop in 30.31. Did a 2nd loop and "raced" JC as we did the 3.2km course with some same legs but going in reverse was a good variation. Got around in 19.30 which goes to show its not a question of speed - just ability....
Did have to pick up car that Hollie had left at work Saturday night so plodded mid-arvo for another 30mins but it was interrupted by a phone call so it doesn't really count as much more than a walk.
