1 - Hands quite cold at the start. Took the safe route on the trail up the big climb. Lungs a bit cold as well. Really surprised to have been only 3s down on Scott on this first leg.
2-Got to where I thought the control was but couldn't see it. Realised fairly quickly that it was over the next hill. (10s lost)
3-In off the small trail. Fine
4-Hesitated a bit when I got close. Veg boundary seemed a bit off, but could see the green patch.
5-Hesitated as I got close. Should have just been confident.
6-Quite slow through the green cut area. Couldn't see the boulder at first.
7-Saw the cluster of boulders, but didnt look at the description (only on the map) to see where the flag was exactly. Checked the north side of the right boulder but didnt see it and searched around for a bit before going back and finding it on the west side. (50s lost)
8-Out to the small trail and planned to cut north to the indistinct trail to the road. The vegetation was totally off though and couldnt make sense of anything. Headed west to where the runnability looked better but eneded up in the rough cut areas. (45s lost)
9-Wasn't paying attention going into the control and ended up too high. (1min)
10-Good
11-Ok, but I climbed too high after the road.
12-Good
13-Good
14-Good, but a bit thrown off by some unmapped details going into the control.
15-Good. Caught back up with a pack of 5 or 6 guys
16-Good
17-Followed the pack but lost track a bit of where we were once across the second road. Not so sure about the route. Maybe south and around was better?
18-Some of the guys started going too far north. Broke off with a guy from Skogsfalken here and spiked it.
19-Good
20-The skogsfalken guy had a different fork, and he pulled me a bit off my line. Had my head up looking for the shape but didn't see it. Ended up way north up on the other hill. Most frustrated with this mistake. Lost two places here and was hoping for a good sprint finish with the other guy. (1:30)

Overall an ok race, but too many small mistakes. The start and the last third were pretty good. Would have been nice to have been under 70.

Fraknefejden Long Distance

Yikes...

Started out ok but with some small mistakes into the controls. Lost 30s on 3 and then 1.5min on 6, although I only know how I lost 20s of that into the control. I think it was my route going around to the left. Was really surprised to be caught by Junis here (-3min). Lost him to 10 where I lost another minute going into the control (recurring pattern here). Pushed hard on the long leg to 12 but then lost 5min going into the control, ridiculous! Made a parallel error not checking my compass and just couldn't line things up.

Right before the start I decided to take off my craft top since I felt I would be way too hot. But by the time I got out to the far end of the map at #12 it was raining heavily and after a fair bit of standing around I got really cold. Should maybe have called it a day at this point. Was unfocused the rest of the race trying to deal with the cold.

Some more mistakes in the end when I was getting tired and having trouble reading the rain soaked map. Hit my knee hard going into 20, so had to walk the last few controls.

A lot of positives with this race that I have to look at. Some fast legs and I felt strong physically throughout the whole course. Glad I was able to race this weekend after a bit of a scare with the calf earlier in the week. A good training race/experience for other races this fall.

Ran the open 8 course. Had a bit of trouble getting into things at the start. Lost 1min to 3 and then another minute missing a trail on the way to 6. Head wasn't really in it I guess. Pushed hard from number 8 on.

The woods were pretty green and scrappy, a shock after last weekends beautiful woods.

Started off losing 25s to no 1, but shook that off and ran well the rest of the first half. Ran a nice long leg to 8, as well as the shorter legs to 9 and 10. Then things started to unravel.

I knew I was getting tired and I tried to keep my focus but I just couldn't keep it together. Made small mistakes on pretty well all of the last controls including a minute on 16.

Was in 5th place at control 10, but then lost 7 places in the last third of the race. Oh well. Still a lot of positives in this race.

25Manna

Ran the 5th leg for GMOK 2.

Was placed as second runner out, with two really good runners behind me, Axe and Palm. Goal was to finish before them.

The first few controls were quite easy with a lot of trail running. Felt tired right off the bat, and felt like way too much effort. Found myself in small groups with other guys for the last half of the race, but felt like I was red-lining it the whole time.

No big mistakes, but many small ones which would add up to over 2min.

Ended up switching over first, ahead of my other three teammates, with an ok time. Happy with the race considering the past month of bad training. As a leg we ended up climbing 3 spots to 25th.

GMOK 2 finished in 34th, the best 2nd team! Really cool to be a part of that. The club got a nice plaque. A great weekend with GMOK 1 coming in 2nd!

Felt really flat, but ok considering how I felt on the weekend. Good to get a mass start training in before the weekend. Would have been a bit more of a shock otherwise.

Some small mistakes in the end and some bad routes, but generally good.
