Trail Running 1:40:00 [2] 18.5 km (5:24 / km)

Gorgeous sunrise easy run around amazing island lake trail, starting at 5:20 am (dropped my daughter off for rowing... she's hardcore) Used my superbly engineered Bent Blaster for the first 20 minutes to light the way. Actually had to wear tights instead of shorts as the dampness made the +4 feel allot colder. All good. Got passed and chicked by some speedy runners on my 2nd loop and was able to convince myself that my days of running 4 minutes a km (my C3 days) are done and I'm in for the long haul and slow and steady is okay, with lots of time to enjoy the beauty of the trails and not the numbers on my GPS. Coffee tasted superb when I got home!

Trail Running 3:40:00 [3]

Absolutely perfect running today. No bugs, dry trails, slightly cool sunny day, no leaves in the trees with views for miles. Trees all cleared all the way to Hockley. Ran from home on the Bruce to just past Dave'e Pinnacle and met Raps and a few others and ran back to 7th line lot and took ride home for beers with Glenn. Felt great. Ran all the hills till the turn around, then went with the group pace. All Good.

Trail Running 7:35:00 [4] 46.0 km (9:53 / km)

Threw in another long run today ( I don't follow any plan these days) Ran from Coolihans to Hockley Valley parking lot and back home, mainly on the Bruce with a few sidetrail short cuts, because I was out a bit longer than I wanted. I ran conservatively and walked all hills, but found the run, especially last few hours, more difficult than my double Hockley loop on a hot day. My legs were very tired. I think the hills are shorter and steeper and took their toll, or maybe I did not fuel right, as I only used water, 2 cliff bars and 2 gels and a bunch of salt pills on the 2nd half. It ranks as likely my hardest runs. But I was happy to be out and even practiced my dance at the finish! Good to feel that way before a race, to remind yourself that you can tough it out. Ate two meals in 3 hours when I got home drank two IPA and went flyfishing with my son. Feeling much better now. A great day... Life is good!
