MTBO Race race 1:27:00 [2] ** 19.4 km (13.4 kph) +256m

Middle distance summary

A clean and fast course from start all the way to point 7, while ,Petrick and I are head to head, I decided to take a different route afterwards and went west and then south towards CP8 where I saw Todkill with flat tyre (I offered him my spare tube). Took an early turn but quickly realised I was undershooting, lost there 6 min which is pity , took CP 9 (no problems) and up to CP 10, on the straight line east towards CP 10, I picked a stick and that got stuck around my cassette, what a shame as I had almost clean course till then, took me almost 8 precious minutes to release it from the wheel. Once the issue has been sorted, I went north and east to pick CPs 11-12, where I saw Patrick again coming back from 12. Took the straight way (North) towards 17 and cut North west to pick 13, pretty smooth from there all the way to the end. Happy with the Middle distance result, though a bit unlucky with the "sticky stick" as I could have finished around 1hr 17 min at the least..

GPS record is 7 min longer than official result

MTBO Race race 59:00 [2] 9.9 km (10.1 kph) +138m
shoes: Giant Anthem Advanced 29er 0

Lost a bit of confidence between CP3 to CP4 - cost me 3-4 minutes

Overshoot CP6, and that cost me 6 minutes

I decided to take CP7 again (don't know what happened) instead of going straight to CP9 (cost me 7 minutes)

Without these mistakes, i would have finished around 43minutes, which worth 7th place, but still 10-15 minutes behind the first riders.

Certainly, things to work on..

I will add the summary later on, but in a nutshell, it was muddy, wet , slow and i was much happier with the second day than the first one. Totally messed with point 25 to point 26 etc. other than that, better to move on and forget about this course..
