SE 90'

Met Jacob and ran up Scales fell to the summit and down the p/drop. Back up Halls fell after Jacob swapped his shoes (he only lives about 30" away from the bottom of the ridge) and back down p/drop at pretty much 'race pace'.

Bleak weather - clag and driving rain. Looks better tomorrow so will walk up after dark to try the headtorch descent. Happy with the line - second go down took 12:30.

No issues with ankles / achilles / feet etc etc etc.

Forecast for next week looks fucking shite.

SE 90'

Ran up Doddick and Halls Fell for a recce of the parachute drop.

Really good conditions; wintery wind but warm in the sun. Messed the line up the first go but nailed it second time. Heading back up with Jacob tomorrow for more of the same. Really glad to have found it so well. Timed myself from the top to where you meet the gate through to the farm - 18' first time, 15' second time.

Legs a bit heavy still but getting back to that lighter feeling for sure. No ankle or achilles issues but the 'stressed' part of my left foot from earlier in the year made itself felt a touch again. Nothing in anyway inhibiting but was there throughout.

60' Easy w/ hill sprints

Body doesn't seem to be reacting all that well to those past couple of big weeks. The tendon issue in my right ankle is making a comeback; not to the point where it is an impediment to running but it's getting a bit sore afterwards. My right IT band is still a touch niggly; not worse than the past couple of days but something to try to keep on top of. Finally my left foot, where the bone stress issue was is starting to get a bit sore - nowhere near as bad as before in the slightest but a reaction to big weeks it seems.

The run was good though!

Legs felt a bit more awake than the start of the week. Hill sprints were good. A bit slow on the first one but right up into it for the 2nd to 6th. Felt pretty good. Achilles tightness went away after a km and wasn't as sharp bu did come back a touch towards the end, though never more than noticeable and didn't progress.

Easy 60' w/ strides

Out the back of the village and along the mine track and back. Ran through towards Keswick then back on the road to Thornthwaite and home.

Achilles tight at the start but again eased off. Doubled the time that I was doing drills beforehand to make it as warmed-up as I could before running, which did help but still there. Eased off after a km or so, same as the past couple of days. Felt fine on the run though legs still feel tired and unresponsive.

Strides were pretty good considering. No issues at all with the achilles when doing them and the legs pepped up a little bit, though still have that flat feeling.

Legs still a little heavy feeling but not as much as yesterday. Same with the achilles, tight and a bit sore, but eased off again after a km (rolled my foot out on a hockey ball afterwards, stretching my soleus throughout the day, and completed 3 x 20 eccentric drops with 18kg).

Felt a touch of tightness in the right IT band too, only really felt when coming down hill and just the odd 'nip' here and there but something to be keeping on top of.

The run was good all the same. Nice cool conditions. Ran up through Beck Wythop (same as yesterday) and around the forest tracks there. No-one else about.

Easy 60'

Legs felt a bit tired and heavy initially but soon eased off and were fairly responsive. Bit of tightness in the left achilles right on the heel, but this loosened off after a km or so.

Pissing it down; hope that's not the end of the nice weather until next year!

Easy 2hrs

Ran the same route as Thursday evening with Kim. Beautiful weather; perfect conditions for a run.

Checked out a different line off Robinson, which suits me much more than the steepness of the traverse under the crags and the steep reversal of the AW race line.

Legs felt really good after yesterday. Hiked the majority of Dale Head as there was no need to push things at all. Missed out Hindscarth; no need to look at the lines there!
