Friday Oct 9 #

11 AM

Road (75%+) 51:27 [1] 10.91 km (4:43 / km) +132m 4:27 / km
shoes: Scott Kinabalu RC Ultra

Easy 50'

Legs, again, feel like they've lots of running. Felt smooth and controlled at a decent enough pace given the effort. IT still an issue but didn't escalate or anything.

Ran home from Keswick on the roads, with a couple of short, sharp ascents / descents thrown in but obviously nothing major.

Forecast looks better than shite for Sunday so it'll probably be then for this Round.

Thursday Oct 8 #

4 PM

Road (75%+) 51:36 [1] 11.32 km (4:33 / km) +37m 4:29 / km
shoes: Scott Kinabalu RC Ultra

Easy 40' w/ strides

ITB tight still but wasn't a hinderance though I did only do 4 of the 6 strides as I felt a tightness develop at the top of my left quad during that fourth effort. Did feel tight for the remaining km or so of the run but hasn't been an issue since and nothing later / next day.

Legs feel like they've got some running in them but concerned about the IT; time's best gained on the downhills on the BG, so if that gets worse as it's likely to, then it's game over for anything half decent.

8 AM

Road (75%+) 1:11:32 [1] 15.26 km (4:41 / km) +166m 4:27 / km
shoes: Scott Kinabalu RC Ultra

Easy 60' w/ strides

Against the program but added the extra 20' on as in theory the BG is back by a day.

Same, same as yesterday. No issues aside from the IT band, which became subtly more noticeable. No issues during the strides, which was nice I guess? Again, clipping along nicely with those.

4 PM

Road (75%+) 1:10:46 [1] 14.73 km (4:48 / km) +191m 4:31 / km
shoes: Scott Kinabalu RC Ultra

Easy 60' w/ strides

Same route as yesterday but with a turn through Portinscale to give 'room' on the run for the strides on the way home.

No escalation of the IT niggle but still there for sure. No clicking or anything to suggest that it's properly bad but in terms of a BG, it's only something that will get worse as the day goes on.

Pretty much dominated by BG thoughts now, which is annoying.

Strides were good. Clipping along at a good pace without any feeling of effort.

Monday Oct 5 #

5 PM

Road (75%+) 1:07:33 [1] 13.85 km (4:53 / km) +44m 4:48 / km
shoes: Scott Kinabalu RC Ultra

Easy 60'

Out and back on the road to Keswick.

Kept things as flat as I could to mitigate the knee issue that's becoming pretty niggly.

No other issues. Legs have some life coming back into them which is encouraging. No strides.

Sunday Oct 4 #

9 AM

Fell 1:37:07 [1] 16.31 km (5:57 / km) +599m 5:02 / km
shoes: Scott Supertrac RC

Easy 80'

Met up with Ben A (now a proud resident of Threlkeld) and ran over the back of Blencathra via Scales Fell and White Horse Bent, before dropping down onto the Gelnderraterra path to get back to the village.

Nice and easy and the legs felt pretty good for it. No issues with ankles / achilles etc but the ITB on the right leg is getting pretty tight despite stretching and rolling. Have a massage booked in for Wednesday to hopefully help things out a bit more.
