Adv Race 13:01:40 [3] 35.3 mi (2.7 mph) +4673ft

With Reed. This was a pretty tough one. Liked the low-mileage nature of it - off trail trekking and dirt riding. Nice cool weather - t shirt and bibs was perfect. It was a 13-hr race for us with early start and over time finish. It was a long course and you had to be fast or skip stuff early to make time. We didn't do that. Reed was a trooper, as always. The unlikely highlight? A scenic swamp bikewhack.

trail run 35:00 [3] 4.0 mi (8:45 / mi) +400ft 8:00 / mi
shoes: Salomon Sense Ride 2

First run in these shoes. Overall good. They are quick, light shoes, a little stripped down and less cushy than I've become accustomed to, but protection seems adequate-ish. I've always been leery of the Salomon lacing system; it was fine today but would need to test for longer periods off trail to see if it's race-appropriate.

Amesbury town forest trails w Reed. Not bad except for the deer flies.
