Burnt Mtn green course with Reed. The first 6 controls went well despite high humidity and lots of bugs. Got lost in the km between 6 and 7 (never hit expected trail). Then it was that thing where the bugs mob you every time you stop to look at the map (maybe 60% as bad as South Garcelon O section MSAR 2018, but that is still terrible) and so you just run around by intuition hoping to find an obvious feature (not a recommended technique). The last 1/3 was just trying to get the hell back to the car by aiming in the approximate direction, which eventually worked. I can't say this exercise improved my nav, maybe built some mental toughness and reinforced to myself not to race in summer.

Fairly ambitious ride for a hot humid day but got through it roughly intact. Good amount of shade on the rural roads, which helped. With Derek.

Woke early and had a time window before work that would accommodate a quick run. Not training for anything but I'm seemingly not willing to completely give up my capacity for running. Sort of a compulsion/habit at this point I guess.

The shorter Raid Rockingham course w Nick. About 1/3 gravel. Pretty nice route, for the highly paved Seacoast. One new gravel section I hadn’t known about.
