First section of the TAZ training by Jen Schultis, with Sam and Ross.
This was a great day, and big thanks to Jen for setting this up. Was apprehensive about biking at these temps (20F). Had 5 layers, which kept me warm, almost too warm but never had any sustained efforts the whole day. Lots of on and off the bikes after the first section.
First section was orienteering, 8 score O controls. The trick was Jen led us into the woods, we were not allowed any compasses, and the start was not marked on the map (the finish where we left the bikes was on the map)
Thanks to some help by Pavlina, we established our location and got all the controls with Pavlina, Victoria, and Joe and team mates most of the way.

Road bike 3:10:00 [2] **
The 2nd section of the TAZ training. Mt bikes on trails and roads. ABout 1 inch of snow in the fields and on trails. ROGAINE format. THe theme was Battle Rd. 1775. Had a good route biking to various conservation lands in Lexington. Great biking on the snowy trails.
Total time was about 3:55, but I deducted about 20 minutes for time standing around studying maps and stuff.
