Cycling (Road) 1:18:22 [2] 18.0 mi (13.8 mph)

Late afternoon ride around the neighbourhood. Checked out some newer roads/houses. Fairly low intensity, just wanted some active recovery for my legs.

Running long (Mixed Trail/Road/Grass) 2:38:13 [2] 15.47 mi (10:14 / mi)
slept:2.5 shoes: Pearl iZumi Float

60F and rising, partly cloudy - 6:45a Early start at Ault laying flour (stoppage time included) on the trails to direct runners thru their off-road portion of the long run. Then ran out to Cincinnati Sports Club to meet up with the first group. Had a long pause (20-30 mins) directing people at a trail junction. After everyone passed thru, I continued the rest of my run. Not sure of the exact mileage, but here is my route after the trail portion. Everyone else who started at Crossroads did this. I wasn't going very fast - a truly Long Slow Distance, but I was still pretty beat afterwards.

Stretching warm up/down 15:00 [1]

Post-run stretch. Legs are pretty stiff.

Running (Trail) 45:37 [2] ** 7.58 km (6:01 / km) +246m 5:11 / km
shoes: Asics Gel Landreth II

80s, sunny - Late afternoon run at Ault, scouting trails for tomorrow's group run. Due to the recent dry spell, the dirt is pretty hard packed everywhere. Still, it's nice to get off the pavement.

Stretching warm up/down 10:00 [1]

Post-run stretch by the Pavilion. There's a wedding reception going on, with a beautiful sunset as its backdrop.

39th Annual RCGC All Comers Cross Country Series

Cycling (Stationary) 1:00:00 [2] 19.42 mi (19.4 mph)
weight:56.7kg

Level 11, Hills, 935c.
Was going to the xc 5k at Princeton this evening, but running in the thunderstorm didn't seem such a smart idea, so just rode in the gym.
The weatherman on the News said that today was the HOTTEST day of the year!

(rest day)

No training today due to Mom procuring last-minute tickets to the ATP Tournament's night session. We had great, almost front-row seats watching the World's No.1 Roger Federer play Frenchman Julien Beneteau. The night was mild, the view up close the personal. It was an awesome experience! Needless to say, Roger won effortlessly in straight sets, 6-3 6-3.

Running intervals (Road) 31:30 [4] 4.56 mi (6:54 / mi)
shoes: Pearl iZumi Float

90s - Fall marathon group run from GameDay. We did a Fartlek run. 10min warm up, then 1, 2, 3, 2, 1 min at 10k pace with equal time off after each interval, followed by a second set with only half the time off per interval, and a cool down. It got pretty tough toward the end, but I survived. Even though it's warmer and much more humid here than CO, running high speed at this altitude felt easy! A fringe benefit from having spent some time in thinner air. :)

Running warm up/down (Road) 27:48 [2] 3.4 mi (8:11 / mi)
shoes: Pearl iZumi Float

Warm up (1.2mi) and cool down (2.2mi) portion of the run.

Stretching warm up/down 5:00 [1]

Afterwards.

Note
(rest day)

Completing the drive back from Blue Springs, MO. No exercises today. Even though I didn't have to steer at all the whole time (except for the mere 60mi drive back to KY), it's still a pretty exhausting trip.
