Event: BCOC

10 AM

Orienteering race 49:09 intensity: (1 @0) + (25 @1) + (3:13 @2) + (15:40 @3) + (25:02 @4) + (4:48 @5) **** 2.76 km (17:47 / km) +64m 15:56 / km
ahr:177 max:188 12c shoes: Salomon Speedcross 3

BCOCs - W21E - Middle @ Brandywine (Race Time 48:53)

I won! I won my first real W21E race in technical terrain!!

Really impressed / surprised I had the fastest run from 9-10 because I should have gone north to the really runnable white and not straight before dipping down after the stream. Anyway really proud of this race!!

Routegadget: http://orienteering.ca/cgi-bin/reitti.pl?act=map&a... (W21E is cleverly disguised under the title BCOC 2016 Middle)

I messed up matching up the GPS track on #2 (it was squiggly) basically the worm will show me finding the control then leaving the wrong way whereas I simply wandered around more before finding the control and then left straight for the path :P

3 PM

Orienteering race 22:51 intensity: (1 @0) + (5 @1) + (25 @2) + (6:15 @3) + (14:58 @4) + (1:07 @5) *** 3.01 km (7:35 / km) +77m 6:44 / km
ahr:178 max:190 14c shoes: Old Pink Pair - Nike

BCOCs - W21E - Sprint @ Cheakamus Crossing (Race Time 22:47)

Routegadget: http://orienteering.ca/cgi-bin/reitti.pl?act=map&a... (save clever disguise as the middle)

Needed more fitness mainly plus a better route to #1 (the path was covered by the #13) and no bobble on #13 (It was right behind me at one point). Overall I was okay with this race and that I was still up there timewise with Emily.

The Boston FREEDOM TRAIL #mericahistory

Loved Boston and this trail and the weather we had for it and all the history. Anyone who knows me knows I love fun facts especially about places I am visiting. Now I want to add to the knowledge given to me by the children's programming about Paul Revere as told by a Buffalo (I think I am mixing two shows together...) but my sisters and I watched a lot of the American history animated kids tv show "Liberty's Kids" :P Exciting to finally see everything I loved learning about when I was little.

Orienteering race 25:44 [3] *** 3.1 km (8:18 / km) +50m 7:41 / km
23c shoes: Old Pink Pair - Nike

*course distance and climb*

NAOCs - F21+ - Dartmouth College Campus

Lost all qualms about running over graves in the cemetery the moment I flipped over my map and saw number 1. Lost ~20 from 1-2 trying to get out of the lower graveyard to the parking lot as I couldn't see the trail up right away. Rest of the leg was smooth.

Lost ~35 seconds on 3 going into the area on the left of the building and not the correct undercover area (grumbles). Sternly focused after this and the rest of the course was great and smooth!

Navigating was quite straightforward and I managed to force myself to keep running albeit slower than I would like (much increase fitness).

Should have worn trail shoes as my flats struggled on the dry needle coated hill towards the end of the course. Made it a bit more of a struggle to make my way through the 3 cliff controls.
12 PM

Orienteering race 18:04 [4] ***

NAOC Sprint Relay

An honour to participate. Navigationally solid & pushed hard. Excited to train more :D
