Note
(rest day)

Inadvertent day off as ultimate was cancelled due to too much rain and excessive field saturation. Kinda okay with staying home and warm. Meant I could work on Presidential stuff :)

What a beautiful day! No sunscreen so I got some sun :P

My -itis was feeling sore after the gorgeous impromptu hike in blundstones (great footwear but not ideal when trying to baby something) so I already had a non-competitive mindset setting out. My goal for doing the 3-hour, and not dropping down to the 1- or 2-hour options) was to work on my ability to read 1:15,000 because it's not something I run into often at our local events but it's a skill I need to run W21E!

Had a really enjoyable run for the first hour with Laura Collings nabbing 131, 134, 151, 135, 142, and 167 together. Then she went back to tag in Ian and I went on to get 172, 164, 123, 132, 133, 125, 141, and 121. Fun run from 133 to 141 via 125 - I was day-dreaming and just enjoying running/life!

Really quite pleased with this race and my map-contact! I was never lost or that far off and conquered the vague area :D

I was wiggly in the control circles, overshot 3 a wee bit and had tome come back, first major error at 7 as I hesitated and didn't go far enough causing me to backtrack double check myself (annoying) I think it was partly because I let the thrill of nailing 6 get to me, erred coming out of 11, too low and hesitant on 12 and off on 13, certainly coming apart a wee bit / tired 15, 16, 17 but really happy overall with how I did running on the long.

Winsplits has me losing ~5 mins on 2-3, ~5min on 6-7, and ~4min on 14-15. On the flipside, I did quite well on some legs! 9-10 (2), 15-16 (3), and the finish chute haha

Routegadget! Love having this to analyse my route choices and see/learn from what other people have done. Wish we had this for WJR's for Vancouver.

Next goal is to keep that level of orienteering map contact while running more/harder! #consistancy

Walk / Hike 1:00:00 [1]

Very very fun adventure with the crew up to some neat rocks/cliffs we'd spotted from the campground :D Great way to spend an afternoon. Learned to trust Will when he says there will be a way across the river and avoided the long road back the rest of the group took :D

Physio 30:00 [0]

So I have some form of "itis" it had a longer than usual name and I think started with a "t" sound...

Vibrate machine, manipulation, massage, exercises, cold water thingy, and then I was taped. The good news is that I have largely moved on from mechanical issues and into the territory of "hmm not sure how that got started but let us see if this fixes it" because apparently my mechanical issues are vastly improved - a win!
