Swimming 1:00:00 [3] 2.1 km (28:34 / km)

Lovely long morning swim - best way to start the day! Think that could be the furthest I've ever swam before! Did 200m warm up, 1600m pretty steady, 200m cool down and 100m really slow breast stroke. Arms felt pretty tired this morning but don't really know why! 50m pool is deffos my favourite!

Note

Physio visit for the hip today. After various movements etc she said that the reason my hip was bad is basically something to do with my stronger left leg and possible overstretching so I've been given various exercises to do to improve it and also my core muscles. She reckoned that it would be a quick fix and I didn't need to go back. She did some massage on it which was really sore, especially on my thigh which was so tight! She recommended cycling and doing the exercises and stretches and after 3 weeks to start building up the running! Yipeeee!! Have timed it quite well as with going on placement next week I won't have any time to go to the gym so will be good rest. Looking forward to a proper cycling sesh tomorrow morning!

Orienteering Event race 30:00 [3] 2.0 km (15:00 / km)

Orienteering at Balmoral. Had decided that I was just going to walk as my hip had been bad all week but once I was out I found the course really hard, just nothing to go by and found myself wandering aimlessly. Decided to just head back as I was getting frustrated and totally wasn't in the mood! Next time I'm doing forest orienteering I'm definately going to do a less technical course, need to start from the bottom and work up!

Swimming 48:00 [3] 1.7 km (28:14 / km)

200m warm up, 1200m front crawl, 200m cool down and 100m slow breast stroke at the end. Felt like I was swimming faster and more efficiently, took very few breaks.

Orienteering Event race 1:04:35 [3] 6.0 km (10:46 / km)

Slightly shorter distance than the Edinburgh race but legs were certainly not fresh! Really enjoyed the bit around Stirling castle but some long legs towards the end felt like a bit of an effort! Almost gave up around 2/3rds of the way round but glad I persevered and kept going.

Orienteering Event race 51:00 [3] 6.0 km (8:30 / km)

Really enjoyable race around Edinburgh. Put in quite a lot of effort and was definitely more confident when reading the map. Long uphill/up steps legs which killed me and hip was pretty sore in places. Determined to get fitter again!
