MTB trails with Kellen, lots of walking again. Feeling a bit more fluid on the more technical bits but still a long, long way to go.

Mainly though, run memorable for Kellen rolling in shit, so having it wafting back to me for the best part of an hour. Unpleasant.

Slackdhu - Dumfoyn - Garloch Hill - Dumfoyn - Slackdhu. Had intended to get out to Earls Seat but windy and surprisingly deep snow higher up, so change of plan. Took it all pretty easy, lots of hiking, and with a heavier pack too, closer to race weight. All good.

350 cals, 250ml consumed.

Up, coffee, out. Out and back to the vets along the pipe track; felt like a bit of a slog, making more effort than I needed to even though travelling quite slowly. Assortment of minor aches, left ankle niggly to start again but eased out.

Gowkstane with Kellen; minor CBA before actually making it out the door, the cold and the wet and the dark didn't feel massively appealing. But fine once going, easy with walk breaks, no problems.

Up - feeling pretty stiff for some reason - coffee, out. Short Gowkstane loop with Kellen, not too bad. Right ankle I turned yesterday seemed fine, the left felt a bit off at times. Nice run, despite the rain.

Gowkstane, Mugdock, WHW with Kellen. Much more enjoyable than yesterday, feeling bit less stressed from work. Clamped HR to 130 but only touched it very briefly: getting better at running really slowly, it seems. Turned ankle a few miles from home; not badly but could still feel it 'there' while I jogged home. Probably best avoiding hill sprints again this week.

Short Gowkstane loop with Kellen, head not in it as stuck in work-mode. Frustrating run-walk-run-walk effort, snow and ice not too bad though.

Out to Mugdock and back with Kellen, lots of ice and semi-frozen slush, slow going. Better than this morning, but head still not really in it. No aches though, less tired than yesterday, big sleep helped.

Work sucks.

Gowkstane loop with Kellen, easy, no issues. Even managed to stay in Fat Burn zone without dropping down to a walk.

Feeling pretty knackered generally, long run, lack of sleep, work. Definitely time for a cut back week.
