Skiing (Cross country) warm up/down (Skate) 10:00 [2]

at Bear Notch Ski Touring, before the Ski-O

Ski O race (Skate) 1:25:00 [4]

Red course at Bear Notch 16 controls and about 12.5km skied (according to Ernst' reckoning). Included 2 road crossings, one of which lost me about a minute as I couldn't get my binding to latch. Did OK, but definitely ran out of steam in the last 20 minutes. Couple of navigation errors, one due to a trail not having been groomed so I skied straight past it - went back and dp through the deep stuff. Also had a few close encounters with the groomer, one of which necessitated bailing off the trail in to the trees as he was as wide as the trail and I couldn't stop!

Skiing (Cross country) (Skate) 1:09:00 [3] 14.0 km (4:56 / km)

at Weston. 7 laps of the race course, which I think is 2.0km. Fast today as it was fairly icy in places, but it had just been groomed which improved things in most places

Skiing (Cross country) (Classic) 2:00:00 [2]

Ellis River Trail at Jackson, with Kristin and the kids. Not a great workout, but a bunch of out and backs round the kids to keep warm

Saturday Feb 16, 2013 #

9 AM

Skiing (downhill) 1:00:00 [2]

6 hours skiing at Wildcat, on some groomed and some ungroomed stuff. Definitely a workout for the legs

Thursday Feb 14, 2013 #

6 PM

Skiing (Cross country) (Skate) 1:00:00 [3] 12.5 km (4:48 / km)

at Weston with Crazy Dave and Big Ben. Icy in places, and where it had been groomed there were still surprises lying in wait like ruts or lumps of frozen ice. They only got me once......

9 AM

Skiing (Cross country) (Skate) 1:06:45 [3]

At Weston on the not so groomed tracks (BK league races on the manmade side, so that was well groomed but OOB). Made for hard work, as soft spots all over and poles punching down a lot

Saturday Feb 9, 2013 #

Other (Shovelling snow) 1:30:00 [1]

takes a while to move 18" of snow, especially when it has drifted a lot taller in places
1 PM

Skiing (Cross country) (Classic) 1:09:00 [3] 5.6 mi (12:19 / mi)

Classic ski on the Minuteman Bikepath. Some tracked by other skiers, but much of it had been walked in and so there wasn't much glide....

Thursday Feb 7, 2013 #

Skiing (Cross country) (Skate) 1:05:00 [3]

at Weston, with fairly crappy conditions. Not groomed after the HS race earlier in the day, and chewed up by the groomers pulling snow guns around. Not so much fun when your ski gets caught in a rut...... No idea how far, as I couldn't do the standard race loop as the snow gun feeds were across the main slope. Not really sure why they are still making snow, when we are going to get 2ft or so Fri/Sat.

9 PM

Running (Treadmill) 45:00 [3] 5.6 mi (8:02 / mi)
shoes: Asics 2160

Intervals(ish) 2 minutes at 1% grade, 5 mins at 3% grade. Pretty constant pace after I warmed up for 7 minutes

Running warm up/down 5:00 [1]
shoes: Asics 2160

Monday Feb 4, 2013 #

6 PM

Skiing (Cross country) (Skate) 1:05:00 [3] 12.5 mi (5:12 / mi)

5 laps of Weston, 4 with Crazy Dave. Grooming left a lot to be desired (rutted, mix of ice and soft spots) and the light that was out at Hairpin Hill made for an interesting time going up or down it..... Only 2 wipe outs - one due to a rut that took my ski away from me and one due to the lack of light at Hairpin Hill - caught a tip

Sunday Feb 3, 2013 #

9 AM

Skiing (Cross country) (Skate) 1:00:00 [3]

at Weston, on variable snow (sugary snow, hard pack and ice) which lead to a bit of instability! Some no poles for a while

Saturday Feb 2, 2013 #

10 AM

Running 1:03:15 [3]
shoes: Asics 2160

From Toyota garage, out and around Great Meadows, run to Waltham Street up bike path, back home with a loop of the Res thrown in too. Felt OK
