On the Mystic. Water level was way down on last week, like 15". Guess they decided to open the dam to allow for all the rain that is supposed to fall in the next couple of days. A little tired, but not too bad considering the 3+ hour paddle yesterday
on the Chas. From Norumbega up to Rt 16, down to Moody St, and back. Not feeling too sprightly, and hips are sore even paddling. Am beginning to think some of the discomfort is muscular.

Round the streets of Arlington. Both hips not feeling right. Can't tell whether is it soft tissue issues or bones, but the doc said that there was no evidence of damage to anything in there based on X-rays......
on the Millers River with Adam. On our own for the first hour and a bit, then with other boats (and therefore lots of short sprints - good interval training) then on our own again for the last 20 minutes. Must have worked hard, because by the end we were both done in!
So, X-ray results back from the doctor and specialist. Whilst the geometry of my hips leaves me predisposed to FAI there does not appear to be anything to cause concern at the moment and I should continue to exercise as normal.
Begs the question, what is causing the discomfort I have - my guess is that it is probably muscle/tendon related pulling things in a slightly strange way. Gonna try a lot of stretching and see what happens, and perhaps take a trip to the physio to get a diagnosis
on the Charles with Adam. Up to Rt 16, down to Moody St and back. Extra 20# in the boat, to allow for the fact that the Rat boat for the Rat Race weighs about 50lb......
