Charles with mark johnson (MN skier). Testing out my ribs, which felt generally ok. Paddled bow as less steering required, but forgot about the need to clear weeds. That wasn't happening as it required too much of a stretch. Didn't paddle hard, but ribs feel ok the next day (other things ache due to not having paddled for a month though.....)

Note
(injured)

Right hip pain isn't going away. Mainly just achy, but when it flares it is intense. Probably a trapped nerve as it seems to catch. Ugh,. Falling apart.

Charles, testing out whether my ribs will allow me to paddle. The answer is no. Need to rest more and let it heal properly. But the end of the paddle it was hurting to breathe deeply again. Recovered OK and I am not more sore today (Thursday) but they clearly aren't right still. No 70 mile canoe race on Memorial Day this year.....and I am probably going to abandon my plan to head to Michigan for the AuSable as I will have lost too much training time
