Started as a run, ended as a hike when my left calf locked up. Calf issue well diagnosed as a soles strain. Only thing that makes sense, given what seems to trigger it and how it is behaving. Commence operation strengthen the soleus without annoying it too much.......

Weston race
About 15 minutes of warm up, 20 minutes of racing, then a warm down (broken up by the B wave race). Started too far back and got stuck behind slower skiers up the first hill, who had faster skis than me so then got away from me again down the driving range hill. Continued this yo yo until the 4th hill when I got past the first slow one. Got the next 2 hills later, and then could finally go at.my own pace. Caught one more, but the damage was done by that point. Was still faster than everyone in the B wave, just not by as much as I should have been.

Not sure there will be a race next week. It was pretty thin this week, and warm temps and rain could be the end of it until they can make more
