Exploring the back side of the Delsjön area - or the area that I have not explored anyway. Made a simple map to take with me to avoid getting lost, but still had to cut through woods once or twice, but the map worked. Most of the large trails were fine to run on, though one section was quite icy/slick snow still. The smaller trails still had a lot of compressed icy snow. Jason was smart and wore his Salomons. I was optimistic, and went in regular sneakers, which meant I did some off trail running next to the trail and/or balancing training! But a nice run, even though I was pretty tired at the start. Nicest part was the section furthest away, of course.

Biking to Slottskogen for morning technique training.

Technical training with club at Slottskogen. Simulated 'relay' environment (i.e. jaktstart), with 5 km course with 2 butterfly loops. I had to skip the second part of the second loop (section D), in order to be able to get back to work in tie, thus the shortened distance. Climb is estimated - I will check later.

First section and first butterfly went well. Great to have jakt start and multiple runners going different directions to force concentration and confidence about selected route choice. Noticed also where I moved more slowly through the terrain and where my speed (i.e. micro-route choice) was better. Was worried about getting back to work in time for meeting going into the second loop and thus messed up one control (way to the left), but recovered okay. Overall, happy with level of concentration.
It will be fun to go back and do this again, taking the butterflies in different directions, and testing in different weather conditions. (right now still a little snow in areas and slippery).

A shorter run today, after a long day of writing and before having guests over for dinner. Feeling pretty tired on the run.
