The Hurtigruten docked in Trondheim at 6:30 in the morning. We were off the boat just before 7. The tour director on the boat managed to print off the mens and womens sprint final - Jason and I took the mens, Dad wanted to walk the womens. The scale was a bit off as we could only print single A4's but it worked well enough. Had to be careful with the map though because the paper was a bit thin. Good thing it didn't really rain!

We did not go all out, but took the course at a tempo run pace. Not completely awake yet when we started - I made a few bad route choices, but once we got to point 5, things went well. The smaller map made seeing some of the small entrance passage-ways a bit hard to see, and then a few of them were closed (they must of had them specially opened for the races, as they were private courtyards. This messed up a few route choices, but nevermind. Really fun course. The only thing I can think of to improve the course would be to place the control at the rock climbing wall (#18 I think for both the men and the women), 1/3rd of the way up the wall, just to make it a bit more fun :-) !

After Jase and I finished, we ran to the nearby Camel Cafe to grab some Lattes, and then walked the men's course backwards to eventually meet up with dad. Took a short little jaunt around the rock climbing wall - weeee - and then up to the fort and then back into town. Really nice morning! Made it back to the boat just before the rain came.
