Ring of steall. Strapped up the knee and hoped for the best. Bit of a crap run though. Set off steady feeling good on the first stretch on the WHW. Feeling good on the climb so pushed on a bit on the way up overtaking lots of people. About 2mins quicker to the first summit than last year. Knee sore but not too bad on the bits of descent over the ridge. Big descent into Glen Nevis was really awful. Mincing badly in the wet and knee getting quite sore. Lost a lot of places. Hit the bottom at about the same time as last year but not feeling great. Tried to push on on the road but felt done in already after only 2 hours of running. On the edge of cramp coming out of the glen and feeling shit. Walking round the rest of the course with jacket and gloves on to stay warm. Got going again on the last descent to salvage sub 5.

Knee wasn't great but not as bad as I'd worried it might be and bad run can't be blamed on that. Wasn't going loads quicker than last year early on but definitely died harder (I faded badly last year so probably shouldn't have gone quicker anyway). Definitely a race to forget
