Hill Running 1:01:22 [3] 6.51 mi (9:26 / mi) +513m 7:34 / mi
shoes: Inov 8 X-talon 212 #2

Out for an hour trying to get some climb in. Struggling to fit as much climbing in during the week as I would like now that I'm back at uni and tied to the athletics club schedule a bit more than I would like since I'm president.

Hill Running 32:17 [2] 3.71 mi (8:42 / mi) +186m 7:32 / mi
shoes: Inov 8 X-talon 212 #2

Easy trot up to the gate on the way up Capelaw and back. Bumped into Nigel and Matthew at the top and stopped for a wee chat. Feeling pretty good again.

Road Running warm up/down 7:45 [3] 1.13 mi (6:51 / mi)
shoes: Asics Gel Hyperspeed

Trail Running 17:50 [5] 3.11 mi (5:44 / mi) +10m 5:41 / mi
shoes: Asics Gel Hyperspeed

St Andrews beach race with HW. Start was very fast so chilled out at first and started to work past people. Turned at half way then the headwind was brutal. Went from 5:20 miles on the way out to 6:20 on the way back. Caught up with an Aberdeen guy and held on but he dropped me later on. 6th place. A bit of a shock to the system. Can't remember when I last raced for less than 90 minutes.

Road Running 13:03 [1] 1.42 mi (9:11 / mi) +27m 8:41 / mi
shoes: Asics Gel Hyperspeed

Jog back then lap of the pitches with Colm.

shoes: Inov 8 X-talon 212 #2

Been feeling a bit under the weather and generally lacking the motivation to get out running or do much of anything at the moment but managed to drag myself out. Felt great once I got going. Pace was decent and effort felt really easy. No tiredness from session yesterday.

HW thursday session near campus. 8X~480m with a couple of wee hills near uni. Felt ok but not fantastic. Paces according to the Garmin were very good with the slowest rep at 5:20 pace and quickest at 5:05 but never feeling great. Almost felt like HR wasn't getting up high enough. Running with the new guy Pierre. After a few evenly matched reps I decided to try and see if I could up the pace and break him... he broke me instead and I died on the final uphill in the last two reps. Didn't know he was a 1:53 800m runner

Road Running 5:00 [1] 0.5 mi (10:00 / mi)

Road Running 1:12:33 [2] 9.11 mi (7:58 / mi) +121m 7:39 / mi

HW run with Colm, Kamilla, Maks and Marine. Marine leaving fairly early then Kamilla heading off leaving just the three of us towards the end. Feeling a bit harder than it really should have done towards the end. Longest flat run for a wee while.

Hill Running 33:29 [1] 3.29 mi (10:11 / mi) +130m 9:04 / mi
shoes: Inov 8 Mudclaw 300 #2

Very easy before uni. Legs don't feel too bad but just feel like everything is moving in slow motion

Trail Running 25:35 [1] 3.03 mi (8:27 / mi) +25m 8:14 / mi
shoes: Asics Gel DS Trainer

Easy on the campus trail while everyone else did the circuit session. Better than this morning but still tired. Will be keeping things easy for a wee while yet.
