National xc. Got caught up in a fall just after the start. Got a bit battered about but finally got up and now well down the field. A bit annoyed so went out a bit too hard on the first lap. Struggling after that. Moving alright on the better ground but just floundering in the mud. Second lap wasn't great but picked it up towards the end when Oleg came through and I tried to hang on. 123rd. A fair bit off where I'd like to be. That's an end to the xc for me for the season. Not been great overall. I think its been a cycle of not taking it seriously because its just xc and not resting for it then getting annoyed when I run badly because I didn't rest. I know I'm fit but just a bit disappointed I haven't been able to put it to use in cross country

Easy. Did a short climb up into the snow. A bit slushy and slippy now. Strides in the car park at the end. Climb wasn't great but strides felt good.

Grim weather for this session. 5Xhill sprints, 4x870 2 min recovery, 5Xhill sprints.

Legs a bit heavy on the hill sprints so knew this was going to be one to just grind out and wasn't expecting to be that fast. Longer reps got slower each time and the weather got worse as well. Struggling by the end. Not feeling great today. Last hill sprints were dire but glad to get through the session anyway
