Trail Running 26:34 [5] 2.65 mi (10:01 / mi) +234m 7:52 / mi
shoes: Inov 8 X-talon 212 #2

4 reps up Blackford each from a different direction. Figured it would be a bit easier mentally than up and down the same bit of hill. Quite good fun. Reps ranged from just under 3 mins to 4:30. Legs a bit heavy on the steeper stuff but decent overall.

Haven't managed to do as much hill work as I really wanted to in the run up to Carnethy but I'm definitely running quite well by my standards so will hopefully be alright

Carrnethy 5 recce. Road was shut so wound up running from quite far out. Annoyingly there was nothing going on near Silverburn and there were loads of cars parked near the start so could have done that anyway. Happy to do a bit more today anyway. Couldn't find the trod on the way up Scald law as always. Hip not happy in the tussocks and deep snow coming off west kip so decided to miss out the carnethy descent and just went over the col. Slightly grim weather so keen to get the road section over with. Was running along quite comfortable at about 6:30 pace

Road Running tempo 20:00 [4] 3.56 mi (5:37 / mi) +20m 5:31 / mi
shoes: Asics DS Trainer #2

Hip feeling a lot better today and not feeling anything on the warm up. Something not too strenuous to see if it reacts. Feeling pretty good after some very easy days and running well. Hip felt good too

Road Running 29:44 [2] 3.79 mi (7:51 / mi) +123m 7:08 / mi
shoes: Asics DS Trainer #2

Not quite as good. Hip a bit sore in the last 15 minutes particularly on the hill in the final mile. Not sure if it was the uphill doing it or if this was just a bit too long for it at the moment. Still better than yesterday and eased off nicely with a bit of stretching

Keeping things on the road so its all a bit flatter and easier. Mostly feeling ok. Stopped for a bit after 30 mins to stretch a little. Hip feeling a bit worse towards the end and a bit sore afterwards

(injured) (rest day)

Went to see Claire for a massage. Was thinking this was just a wee thing that I'd caught early and should be a quick fix and from my description she thought the same. I was wrong. This was the most painful one I've ever had. Not quite fixed. Various muscles went into shock and she couldn't do anymore while my leg was shaking uncontrollably and I was dripping in sweat. Have the all clear to run on the flat as long as things aren't too painful and will be going back again soon. At the moment in quite a bit of pain but hard to tell if that's from the hip or her going to town on it

Hill Running 46:34 [2] 4.91 mi (9:29 / mi) +400m 7:34 / mi
shoes: Inov 8 Roclite 290

Hip quite sore when I woke up so skipped my planned morning run. Loosened off during the day so decided to have a crack at the carnethy session. Long warm up to get some miles and climb in

Hill Running 23:19 [4] 1.87 mi (12:28 / mi) +275m 8:34 / mi
(injured) shoes: Inov 8 Roclite 290

3X(30,60,90) Started ok. Generally a bit tired and heavy legged anyway. Hip started to feel bad during the second set so stopped after 3. Uphill feels a bit worse than flat and it was quite muddy so my feet were slipping with every step which aggravated it a bit.

Hill Running warm up/down 17:57 [2] 2.31 mi (7:46 / mi) +50m 7:17 / mi
shoes: Inov 8 Roclite 290

Wee bit of discomfort but not too bad when just jogging along on the flat

Easy round campus before circuits. Feeling alright running but definitely in need of an easy day today

S+C 1:20:00 [0]

HW circuits. Left hip started to get sore doing the mountain climbers in the 2nd set. Still a bit sore in the evening. Did some more stretching later on so will hopefully be ok tomorrow
