Feeling knackered after work and loads to do for uni. Bit of an unsuccessful day generally which involved me being locked out of the house for a while. Didn't expect to get much done this weekend hence the frontloading at the beginning of the week but I think averaging 10 miles a day in singles is still a wee bit too much for me at the moment

Easy run trying out my new road mileage shoes. Feeling grim. Terrible night's sleep after sports ball and in work all day. Hip a little niggly throughout the day so wanted to keep things flat and hopefully do a longer run or some hill reps tomorrow depending on how I feel

Planned on doing a fartlek in the afternoon at uni with fewer miles before and after and a wee jog in the evening. Horrible busy day meant that didn't happen and wasn't in a very good mood in the evening and needed to blow off some steam. To the meadows for 3x[5x300(45s)](3min). Feeling ok tonight. All between 50 and 53. Bit windy tonight and last time I was running with Jonny for some so was dragged along a bit quicker. Good to get something a bit faster done

Very windy and the snow is turning into ice and slush so this was a bit unpleasant. Happy to get round something of a reasonable length. Hip struggling a bit when bashing through terrain or snow drifts but an improvement on last week. Was never going to feel fantastic on a longish run the day after a hard session

Was feeling a bit coldy and wiped out last night. Better in the morning but decided not to double up to be safe. To Oriam then easy round the loop in a wee group

Plan was 5,10,15,10,5 in a session I got from scouring Peter's log for fun looking threshold sessions. Juan injured himself playing basketball in the morning so resigned myself to grinding it out solo. Cruised round the first 5 in 5:43 pace feeling good. This was the sort of pace I was hoping to hit for the whole thing. Start of the second one a random runner tags on. I go a wee bit quicker and he sticks with it and asks to join in so we get chatting and find out he's Ewan from corstorphine. Turns out he works on campus and was out to do a similar sort of tempo session himself so worked well to just jump in on mine. He then proceeded to drag me along for the rest of the session at a very quick pace. Did a little bit of power of 10 stalking afterwards and he's much better than me. 32:09 10k pb and he won Tinto in 2016 ahead of a lot of people who are quicker than I am. Very grateful for the company and turned what could have been a slog into a great session. Didn't have enough left in the tank to do the last 5 and Ewan didn't fancy it either. Feeling ruined afterwards. The first 10 was definitely too quick and hurting a lot on the last one but beforehand I would have been happy with that sort of pace.

Hip good today. Only a bit uncomfortable when climbing over gates and stiles. Giving circuits a miss tonight to avoid aggravating it.
