Easy round Mortonhall and Swanston. Touch of DOMS but not too bad. A few wee aches and pains from yesterday but overall better than expected.

Fun week or so of racing. Not a huge fan of the constant racing/recovering cylce but I think a wee bit more race practice will have done me some good and each one has felt a bit better than the last.

Great race and a really nice day for it. Set off steady trying to find a good rhythm for the long climb and after a few minutes was sat in 4th. Lucas came past. Started to go with but the pace felt a wee bit too quick for so early on in the climb so I let him go. Waldie caught up and we were running together for a wee while. Was tucked in behind him and it felt like quite hard work so was expecting to be dropped. Nipped past before the grass section though while he was having a bit of a rough patch and pulled away. Lucas and John in site up ahead on the steeper stuff. Started to work a bit harder when it flattened out and was feeling good. Caught up to Lucas and tried to cruise past looking comfortable so I dropped him. John getting no closer but was moving well on the steeper bit and summit ridge.

Stewart and a cambuslang guy weren't a million miles behind so was worried I'd get caught going down but overall the descent was good. Waldie got ahead on the fast gradual track and got a gap but that was it and always felt like I was going well and a bit more confidently than normal. Knew I had a bit of a gap so eased off a little on some of the trickier bits in the forest to be safe. Realised towards the bottom though I was running out of steam slightly so was a bit slow on the road near the end. Probably could have found another gear in a chase. Happy and great fun

Just grouping this together as one run. Showing Dad some lines for 7 hills next month. Drove out to Corstorphine and did just over 20 minutes up and over so he knew where the descent went. Back to the car then drove to nearer braids and did a loop over there so he knew where to go over the golf course. Nice evening.

Bit of a stressful start. Turned out I hadn't entered when I'd definitely at least started the entry online. After some confusion got entered and then managed to lose my number. More faff and confusion and was a bit short on time for a warm up by the time I was eventually sorted

Hill Running 37:23 [5] 4.8 mi (7:47 / mi) +430m 6:06 / mi
shoes: Inov 8 X-talon 212 #4

Feeling quite good off the start and sat at the back of the chasing pack with Scott off ahead. As we got out the trees my shoelace came undone so had to stop and redo it so lost the group I was with and had a big gap behind. Probably would have been dropped eventually anyway but made things a bit harder. Didn't feel very fast up the hill and was caught by some glasgow people just at the top. Descending was mostly fine but had a bit of a stitch for part of it and was struggling to push.

Was a bit disappointed afterwards but the time was decent really. I don't think I'm quite as fit as I'd sort of been hoping I was but with exams and a bit more racing the last month or so of training has been fine but nothing special. Feeling motivated to start working a bit harder now uni is out the way

Easy and not too hilly. Still a little tired but getting better. Exams finished now. Doing a few days a week in Tiso for a wee while then sometime in June going full time at a Summer internship at Torness. Will have free weekends for the first time in years though. Plenty of time for some good running
