Intercounties. Super hot and pretty tough going. Was not feeling good on the first climb. Legs quite heavy so did my best to hold onto Kenny. Advice from the girls who'd raced before was to start steady so maybe no bad thing. Got going a bit more once it flattened out on top and started passing people. Lots of running on narrow trods so annoyingly difficult to overtake. First part of the descent was slow stuck behind somone but better when it widened out. Moving fast but trying to save something since there's a bigger climb on the way back. Heat hit me as I got to the bottom and started climbing. Feeling tough but moving faster than the others around me so just tapped out a rhythm and started to grind it out. Making up some places and got ahead of Gregor and Doug. Feeling good on the run on top. Last descent was a bit technical but moving well. Only lost some places since I followed the flags and a few people nipped ahead on a more direct line off to the side.

44th in the end. 5th team for scotland east. Ewan and Murray were well up but I was the next counter a fair way back. Time wise was about where I might expect to be relative to some of the other Scotland guys but didn't feel like a great run. No fell races really planned for a while so will hopefully be able to crack on with some decent training post LAMM

Nice run in the sunshine with Jonny. Went from Red Moss and out on a nice trail heading east cairn hill direction. Turned off and had a nice grassy climb up another hill and worked our way back to the drove road

5X1600 at Saughton. Gatecrashing an EAC session so there was a big group and I had a couple of guys about the same pace to run with. Recoveries were meant to be 2 mins but the first 2 were more like 1:30. Dying a bit on the last couple but overall feeling pretty good and happy with how I was running.
