Easy longish run. At the end of a big week and in the heat this was always going to be fairly slow. Motivation was low before heading out and overheating on the first climb I considered bailing but pleased to plod round something long enough. Maybe need to run slightly fewer miles during the week so I can get a better quality long run in

Went to meet Jonny to go to Porty parkrun. Didn't bring my phone so didn't realise he wasn't coming. Waited where we planned to meet then nipped off to the commie pool toilets as my stomach was a bit dodgy. When I didn't see Jonny after figured he had either left without me or wasn't going.

Got quite lost on the way there which is silly given my gran lives right next to the park where it is. Made for a nice long warm up and got there just in time

First time ever actually doing a parkrun! Wasn't totally sure where I was going so sat in the front group until halfway round the first lap then moved off to the front by myself. Kept up a good solid grind the whole way round. Watch read a bit long so from glancing at it thought I was running very fast. Eased off the gas a bit on the last lap and probably could have done a bit more if I'd had anyone to race with a bit more. Great fun and enjoyed it

Jogging back actually remembering the right way to go. Stomach slightly iffy again. Made it to Marchmont before I hopped on a bus. Nice to have all the training for the day out the way by 10:30!

Down to Saughton to join the track session Jonny was doing. Possibly the strongest group I've ever done a session with with the likes of Kris Jones, AnDoug and Carcas all there. Feeling very out of my depth and getting dropped hard as it progressed but getting dragged along to some quite fast times by my standards. Hanging onto Jonny at first until he started to struggle then dropped out then off the back on my own.

My 60s recovery were generally getting closer to 50 since I was behind everyone but the long recovery between sets made up for it. Maybe because of that or maybe just because I'm slow the 400s weren't very fast. Great session and enjoyed this a lot. Haven't done loads of speedwork lately so nice to get something good in.

First run of unemployment/full time athlete life. Easy hill loop. Skin struggling with the heat, long grass and humidity so spent a lot of this feeling very itchy. Finally threw out these shoes since it was long overdue
